Joseph Bishouty

Peacefully in his home in Bradford, surrounded by his loving family on June 30, 2017, at the age of 68. Beloved husband of Mary ( nee Abdo ) for 47 years. Loving father of Hanane (Rudi), Betty, and Peter (Joanne). Dear son of Boutros and Fortunee. Cherished grandfather (Sido) of Joseph, Luca, Alexia, Madison, Joseph, Adrian and Gabriel. Brother of Nana, Nouha, George and Fouad. Sadly missed by many family and friends in Canada and Israel.

Special thank you to Dr. Habot, Dr. Henien, Dr. Gideon, Dr. Ransom and the medical staff at Southlake Regional Health Centre for all their care and compassion shown. Resting at Thompson Funeral Home 530 Industrial Parkway South, Aurora on Wednesday July 5th from 4-6, and 7-9pm. Funeral Mass at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 1955 Leslie Street, Newmarket on Thursday July 6th at 10:30am. Interment to follow at Aurora Cemetery, 14253 Yonge Street Aurora. A reception will be held at LA Grill Restaurant, 7880 Keele Street, Concord after the burial. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

Joseph was born and raised in Jaffa, Israel and on June 29, 1981 he uprooted and immigrated to Canada with his wife and 3 children. He lived in Stoney Creek for many years, then spent the rest of his time in Newmarket, and most recently Bradford. His favourite pastimes included playing cards with his friends and family, and was always up for a challenge for a game of backgammon. His favourite outings included going out for ice cream, including Stoney Creek Dairy for hot fudge banana splits and listening to his favourite singer Farid al-Atrash.

His love for his grandkids was notably seen as with each visit with them he treated them to chocolate bars."His love for family and friends and his kindness warmed up hearts each and everyday. His will and determination will resonate with us forever” He will forever be "OUR HERO"
