

Born in Liverpool England February 23, 1928. Married Arthur her husband on September 6, 1952. They immigrated to Canada in 1954. Joyce joined the Allstate Co. and was with them for 38 1/2 years, retiring from the Corporate Accounting Department in 1991. In 1957 Joyce with her husband and 50 other avid Archers formed what is known as York County Bowmen and was made a lifelong honoury member in 2007. During the 1950’s Joyce became Canadian Field Archery Champion. She loved to travel and has toured Canada from the Atlantic to the Pacific. AS an outdoor enthusiast Joyce loved camping, fishing, boating and gardening. On September 6th 2017 Joyce and Arthur celebrated their sixty fifth Wedding Anniversary. Joyce was a warm and caring person to anyone who knew her. She will be sadly missed by all. Joyce is survived by her husband Arthur, brother Ronald Elliott and his wife Margaret, niece Sandra Goodfellow and her husband Andy, niece Paula Devonport and goddaughter Lia Weekes. We would like to acknowledge the valiant efforts of the doctors and nurses of Southlake Regional Hospital and in particular our family Doctor Mr. S. Henein who came to the aid of Joyce in her crisis. A celebration of Joyce’s passing will be held at the Thompson Funeral Home, 530 Industrial Parkway South, Aurora on Thursday September 21 at 11am with visitation one hour prior. No flowers please, but give generously to the Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation.
