NANO'S SHORTBREAD


Ingredients
1/2 lbs butter1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup rice flour1/2 cup fruit sugar


Directions
Whip butter. Gradually add sugar. Mix flours and add gradually until ball forms. Roll out to .

Bake at 270 (or 275) degrees for to hour.










BANANA BREAD


Ingredients
1 cup of sugar1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup oil1 tsp baking soda
2 beaten eggs tsp salt
3-4 mashed bananas cup orange juice
2 cups all purpose flour


Directions
Mix all ingredients, bake in bread pans @ 350 F for 1 hour +/- and cool. Wrap and store for 12 hours before slicing.







PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES

Cream together cup of butter and cup of peanut butter

Beat in cup of white sugar and cup of brown sugar

Stir in1 egg, tsp vanilla, tsp salt, tsp baking soda, 1 cup flour.


Directions
Arrange on cookie sheet in teaspoonful's, flatten with a floured fork, bake @ 350F for 10 minutes. (makes 60)








APPLE CRISP

8-10 medium apples cup of flour
1 tsp cinnamon cup of butter
cup of brown sugar
Directions
Cover bottom of square baking pan with peeled and sliced apples, sprinkle with cinnamon. Mix flour and brown sugar and blend in the butter. Cover apples with mixture.

Place in 325-350 F oven for hour or until sufficiently browned.

We wanted to speak a little about the gift that we were both given- our Angel, Aunty Lynn.

We have spent our whole lives explaining to others just who Aunty Lynn is to us. From teachers and friends to airport security during our many trips together.

Aunty Lynn is the woman who chose to love us as if we were her own children. She and Uncle Vern are the ones who taught us that family is not defined by blood, but by the choice we make to love one another unconditionally.

She was the one to store all of our secrets, to celebrate in our successes and listen or offer gentle guidance in times when it seemed as though our world was falling apart.

As all of us move forward, we must cherish the gift that Aunty Lynn has given us, and that gift is each other.

Be patient, kind and respectful towards one another. Open our doors to all family and friends and most importantly... love one another in the same indescribable way hat Aunty Lynn has loved us.

THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.  He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.  Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.  You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

What then shall we say to this?  If God is for us, who can be against us?  It is Christ who died, rather, was raised, who also is at the right hand of the God, who indeed intercedes for us.  What will separate us from the Love of Christ?  will anguish, or distress, or persecution?  No, in all these things we conquer through him who loved us.  For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor height, nor depth, will be able to separate us from the love of God and the Love of Lynn    

The Word of the Lord

Lynn & I met 28 years ago this coming September.  The year was 1988 & our family had  just moved here from London, ON. that August.  I was in my last month of pregnancy with my 3rd son Ryan, Michael had just turned 2 the week before &  Andrew was just starting the morning JK.  This is where Andrew met Chase & they became good friends.  Next I met Chase's mother Carla who told me that Chase was looked after by a lady named Auntie Lynn who happened to live on the next street over.  So one day late that September the doorbell rang & here was this lady standing there with a smile on her face,  her dog named Sasha & Chase with a look of excitement on his little face & a big grin, hello said this lady, my name is Lynn Cunningham & I look after Chase in  the afternoons. Carla has told me about your family & that your son Andrew is in the same class.  Lynn said, I understand you have a new born and another little boy who just turned two. I believe your hands are full right now, Lynn said with a warm lovely smile.  Would it be alright if Andrew came over to play with Chase this afternoon & Chase & I will walk him home a little later.  I would never let my children go with anyone I didn't know, but there was something special about this lady.  So I said Yes!    That was the beginning of a long lasting friendship.

Soon after our husbands became good friends & over the years we shared many dinners back & forth along with invitations for them to attend 1st communions, birthday parties, graduations, bridal & baby showers and a few family weddings & the list goes on.  Over the years our families shared many laughs as well as Lynn & I shared  more than a few tears together.

I am a person that has always found it hard to ask favours of anyone as it was the way I was raised.  But  there was a bond that I felt with Lynn that I was comfortable enough to ask for help.  Then one such day in July of 2002 I called Lynn from the hospital to ask if she & Vern could pick up my 3 sons and bring them back to their home that day as I knew the boys were worried about their dad who had not been well for a while.  Long story short Bill was diagnosed with brain cancer & hospitalized for most of the next year and a half.  Lynn was always there with phone calls to see what she could do & her great meals.  6 months later Bill had become paralyzed & pretty much unable to speak or communicate.  Bill came home 2 days before Christmas where I had a hospital bed set up in the family room.  I was determined to have as normal a Christmas as possible for my 3 sons.  So with help from my niece Wendy in Aurora who decorated the Christmas tree, my dear friend Daniela took care of most of my Christmas shopping & Lynn & Vern cooked the turkey with all the trimmings along with of course Lynn's famous shortbread cookies.

My brother & sister in-law drove 2 straight days from Nova Scotia with their 2 children thru a snow storm just so we could all be together.  Despite the heartache of knowing it would be our last Christmas with Bill, all of us felt the love & a true spirit of Christmas.  This is when I realized that Lynn & Vern were more than just friends they were family!  

2 Years after Bills passing I met Blain & Lynn & Vern were there embracing him & so our friendships have continued.  Blain has remarked to me more than once that he had never met anyone with such quality friends as mine.  Yes, I replied, my friends are the best!  Lynn was my Matron of Honour when Blain & I married in November 2007.  Just before our wedding Lynn hosted an amazing bridal shower where she designed a huge 2 layer wedding cake about 5 feet tall and about 5  l/2 wide.  I know Vern was coerced into the construction of this endeavour.  The cake was decorated with beads & Kleenex flowers all around each layer.  Lynn spent hours & days on this not to mention the food she prepared.  Later in the evening Lynn said there is one more surprise for you Susie  follow me so thru the dining room she opened the French doors & there stood this huge cake before me & then Blain umped out the top...shirt less!!  Everyone there just howled with shock & then roars of laughter.  No one could stop laughing it was hilarious!!  This was another most memorable time as Lynn had worked her magic with just plain fun!!   

A few years later my eldest son Andrew was now married to Suzanne & had little boy Jacob who was 1 l/2 now.  On Dec. 23rd, 2011 Andrew was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia & admitted that same day to hospital to start treatment.   Other than Andrew's brothers & my niece Wendy & family in Aurora we chose not to tell any family members or friends until Sunday evening of the 25th so as to not completely ruin everyone's Christmas. But I did feel I needed to call Lynn as I felt I needed to share this with her.  Again Lynn was there for me during these next 2 years until his passing offering help in any way possible.

There is one greater thing that I would like to share with you that dropped me to my knees.  Roughly 4 months after Lynn was diagnosed with brain cancer was the first Christmas without Andrew &  the 1st year anniversary of Andrews passing. Two days before the anniversary of Andrews
passing, Vern came to the door with flowers & a letter for me from Lynn.  I couldn't understand why I was receiving flowers.  But when I read the letter from Lynn  she wanted me to know how sorry that she was as my friend for not being there for me those past few months with the first Christmas & Andrew's passing approaching.  Can you imagine that Lynn was worried about me with all that she was dealing with of her own illness & treatments.  Unbelievable!!  I still can't believe her compassion, her strength to even think of me or anyone else with what she was going thru.  Lynn was selfless!! 

That week I wrote a letter back to Lynn & told her to open it when they were in Florida.  I also wanted her to know what she meant to me & my family & that I was struggling with her diagnosis.  .  I am so glad that I wrote a letter back to her as it is easier to write it than to say it when you are feeling so emotional.
  
January 6th was the day that I went with Lynn & Vern to her radiation appt. & then to her hair appointment in Toronto to help her pick out a new wig to be styled & coloured. This day was especially memorable as it was the first year of Andrews passing & I was happy to be with Lynn.  It was a long day for Lynn as she was exhausted but she thanked me several times that day for being with her & for helping to pick out her new hair. Vern thanked me as well stating that he knew nothing about hair styles & colour!!  When we arrived back in Aurora that evening Lynn thanked me again & I told Lynn -  don't take this the wrong way because I hate what you are going thru, but in a very strange way it was a wonderful day to be together & just to BE!!

I thank God that I met you & there will never be a day that goes by that I won't think of you & smile as there will  always be a special place in my heart for you.  I will always remember the wonderful, classy, selfless dear friend that you were & the Great example you have set for so many of us left behind.

Auntie Mame was such a caring and loving aunt. She always made me and everyone around her feel so comfortable.
Like many of my cousins, I worked at Alutron and lived at Auntie Mame and Uncle Vern's not just once but on two separate occasions in my life. I always felt at home and with close family when I was at their house.
I'm happy that my wife Laura was able to meet Auntie Mame on many occasions and see all of the amazing things that we all knew about her.
Auntie Mame was an incredible personI'll miss her.

Like all of you, Auntie Mame touched and helped shape my life from childhood to adulthood. Like all of you, I will remember her kindness, selflessness, love of family, beautiful singing voice, and the hours she spent with me playing paperdolls and Candyland. What I will remember most though, is a mantra Auntie Mame shared with me that I couldn't fully understand until hard times like these. The mantra is: Things happen for a reason.  Auntie Mame said this to me many years ago, then said  Things don't always happen how we want or dream of, but they always happen how you need them to in order to open up doors.

Auntie Mame never had children of her own, but did something greater in that she cared for and was a mother figure for us all. She always knew the right thing to say, and when to push or pull back. She has been a gift to all of us that never can be taken back or replaced.

Right now, we may not understand the why, but I am confident she is smiling down on us now, getting ready to open doors we don't know yet exist or that we even needed. So today, we should remember how blessed we all were to have spent time with an angel on earth, and continue to feel blessed to have her as our guardian angel watching over us and our children, and helping to open doors from above.

What Mame wasn't.... 
Well, we've heard a lot today about all the great things that Mame was... 
but I always seem to get the dirty jobs , so in the interests of fairness and balance I think it's important that you know what Mame Wasn't! 
Mame wasn't very good at four letter words. In fact In all the time I've known her I never once heard her use the f bomb... Maybe once or twice she said  oh fudge  or fiddlesticks ... or when they had their dog sasha, would she say poop? 
Noooooo... it was Sasha has to go to the bathroom. well...She was a smart dog but I'm pretty sure i never saw her doing her business in the bathroom! 
but to be honest here... there were a couple of four letter words that she did drop with reckless abandon... every time i turned around it was can I HELP with that? Or ...I LOVE the way you BBQ that steak. It was embarrassing sometimes how she'd blurt out those words in public. 
Mame also wasn't good at turning people away. She was constantly offering her house up to whoever needed to stay there. You know who you are... And as a result she constantly had people coming and going. And they always seemed to leave there better off than they came in. Go figure! 
Mame wasn't good at being critical of others. I must confess I tried my best to teach her how to bash people. But she just couldn't get the hang of it. It was frustrating , I told her being critical of others is a transferrable skill! Everybody does it! 
But I guess she just didn't have her heart in it... She was always distracted by this love and help thing she was obsessed with. 
Oh my God and Care about others!.... She was terrible at being self centered. This may have been her biggest flaw. 
Even as a teenager she was all about other people and not herself. Yeah I'm not kidding, even as a teenager. Talk about something only rarely seen in nature! 
I witnessed it myself as her annoying little brother. I remember one night I was about 7 or 8 and already in bed when I heard Mame and I think it was Judy Pennefather in the next room yakking and playing Beatles records. 
I had never heard sounds like this before. The Beatles I mean... I kept yelling every time the record stopped... Play it again ...play it again... 
 she loves you yeah yeah yeahand of course she did...well until my Dad got home anyway and that was it for that. 
Then a short time later, the Beatles were coming to Montreal and she got tickets for her and her girlfriends... and one for her annoying little brother. What teenager does that? And happily. She got such joy out of seeing others happy! 
By the way, as an aside, she always said prior to that Beatles concert that she thought all that screaming and crying the girls did at those concerts was nonsense.So now we're at the concert and all of a sudden Paul McCartney looks up in the stands directly at us . And then I heard this sound next to me from mame that i never heard from her before or since! Looked over and there she was having a teenage girl meltdown screaming and crying with joy! It was pretty special .... 
And finally...Well she wasn't good at being the center of attention...In fact she hated it... and yet look at all of us here today. Sorry Mame, but you brought this on yourself by being the wonderful human being you were. Funny how that happens. 
I feel so lucky and blessed to have you in my life, and I believe your spirit will always be with us.

I would like to talk about Aunty Mame. She was beautiful, full of love and is now part of a whole new world. Thank you, Uncle Vern, for mentioning the rose I gave Aunty Mame at the 'Rare' play. 

I loved her very much.

A Recipe: How to make an Auntie Mame

Ingredients:

1.A kind, gentle and generous spirit.

2.A house that becomes home to anyone who enters: family, friend, or stranger.

3.A soothing smile that says, You're safe with me.

4.A look across a Scrabble board that says, Just try and play that made-up word, punk.

5.The charming chime of an understated giggle.  

6.The iron will of a platoon commander, to lead bumbling assistants through the crowd and chaos of cramped produce aisles. Darn it, double bag those peaches, Vern!

7.The patience of a saint. (see number 6)

8.The soft voice and softer heart of a compassionate confidante. 

9.A love to make the lost feel found, the broken feel whole. 

Combine all ingredients with quiet grace. 

Makes one beautiful person.

Serves countless numbers of people, leaving them forever grateful.

Like everyone here today, I can't believe we are saying goodbye to our sweet Auntie Mame so soon.  It still doesn't make sense

I feel so grateful to share Auntie Mame's name, Lynn, as my middle name and to have my birthday one day before hers.  I'm thankful that I will always carry those special connections to such a wonderful lady for the rest of my life.  As I told her last week in the hospital, I am so proud to be related to her.

Auntie Mame was sweet, thoughtful, generous, funny, but she would certainly share her thoughts with you if she felt you needed to hear them!  Auntie Mame was our family's hub, as my dad called her, someone who took us in when we needed TLC.  I think we are all thankful to her in some way for her kindness and generosity.

As my dad said, she was definitely an angel on Earth, and she will now continue to be the angel in all our hearts.  I believe she will live on through all of our kind acts and thoughtful gestures because that is what she taught us during her brief time in our lives.

Thank you, Auntie Mame.  We will love you always.

Our Angel As a kid, I always found it hard to picture the angels described to us in religion classes at school.  They were always described as wearing white and having wings and halos, but I found the concept very difficult to imagine.  While I was at the hospital last week, saying goodbye to my only sister, it occurred to me: we had an angel among us this whole time.

Our family's hub is gone, but she will never be forgotten.

We love you, Mame.

I am smiling today, even though it's very difficult, because I know Aunty Mame is now with Nano and Bompi. In times like these, especially in the case of Aunty Mame, to understand and make sense of why we're here today is very difficult. But I think about how Aunty Mame chose to live her life, and I can honour her by implementing all of the things I have learned from her, into my life:

•I've learned that real true Love really does exist  I am also so grateful that she re-met and married Uncle Vern because he is one of the best uncles anyone can ask for, as well as it brought Tracey, Steve, Katie and Chase and their families into our lives

•I've learned to choose compassion and love over anger, and to focus on guidance and support over judgement

•I've learned to love all of those around me with the fullest of hearts  Aunty Mame truly made all of us feel so uniquely special and loved deeply

•I've learned to ensure I have enough food in my fridge, especially meat if Beauregards are involved, so all around me know my home is open to everyone 24/7

•Most of all, I've learned to choose love and family above all

These are the things I promise you, Aunty Mame, to share with my children.

I know Aunty Mame is holding hands with Nano right now in heaven, and if I can live my life as they both did, I will be able to help them both live on in my heart, my children's hearts and the hearts of all of those around me. 

I'll love you forever, Aunty Mame!

Hi, my name is Dann, and I am one of Aunty Mame's nephews. I prepared a letter to Aunty Mame.

Dear Aunty Mame, 
I am thankful for all that you have done for me.

I will keep those memories close to me.
I can truly say that I wouldn't be who I am today if not for you.
You have touched so many lives, you have helped so many people; that your love and kindness are forever.

Back in May of 1991, when my grandmother (Nano, as we called her) had just passed away, I made a promise to her that I would carry on her kind, loving, and gentle ways by being all of those things with everyone that I encountered. As the months wore on after she died, I realized that her daughter, my Aunty Mame, had all of these qualities too. I would definitely miss my grandmother but I always knew that having Aunty Mame in my life would be the next best thing. And Aunty Mame was just that person  loving, caring, thoughtful, kind, generous, and so much more. Now it's even more important for me to try and be all of those qualities with everyone I meet.

Oh, and throughout my childhood, one of my fondest memories of Aunty Mame was spending time with my sister Heather at her house during the summer months. Aunty Mame and Uncle Vern introduced me to many things that I still love today  Montreal bagels (never had another kind that compares), iced tea, old Montreal, St. Joseph's Oratory, and La Ronde Amusement park to name a few.  And my favourite memory from my time with her was when Aunty Mame took me up on the Ferris wheel. She was very afraid of heights, yet she went up with me anyways. Finally, the name Aunty Mame is synonymous with the delightful, delectable, and delicious smoke meat sandwich from the Centre Street deli. She and uncle Vern introduced me to that heavenly place. We never missed a visit to the Centre Street deli when we visited Aunty Mame and Uncle Vern. Now whenever I eat a smoke meat sandwich in the future, I will always remember her.

I've heard it said that "if you get, give and that if you learn, teach" and my aunt was the epitome of this phrase.

I believe in legacy and that we should leave the world a better place than we found it and Auntie Mame certainly did this and I hope to continue living this way.

Two memories stand out for me that I'd like to share today: one is to never settle and Auntie Mame sure demonstrated this by marrying Uncle Vern as she described him often as her "prince" throughout this ordeal and I really tried to listen to what she said and now I have an awesome husband too! The second one is when watching what one eats and you are tempted to "cheat", only choose a cheat if it is a "ten" and for me Montreal bagels are a "ten"...although I also have to say so is Haugen Das Ice cream...lol

I am very grateful for being able to stay at the Cunningham Hotel while in between careers and very thankful that Auntie Mame allowed my cats to come too...thank goodness hardwood was being installed shortly after, lol

This comes to mind every time I think of Auntie Mame. I believe that Jesus acted out His faith--He didn't just tell people what to do and then go do something different, He really walked the walk and although I am not super religious, I certainly feel that Auntie Mame was the closest to being like Jesus compared to anyone else I know...she really walked the walk and I will always admire that about her...another thought that comes to mind is the phrase "well done good and faithful servant"...Auntie Mame really did live life to love and help others!

Good morning folks;

Yes ! I am the oldest brother  Too old to remember the anecdotal occurrences of a lifetime, but not too old to remember this beautiful person, my baby sister known to us as MAME.

She had the world's finest mentor  our mother NANO and accepted her life lessons with grace, enthusiasm and dignity. The many people here today and last night are testimony to the effect she had on us all. Each one of us, either directly or indirectly , have felt the presence of Aunty Mame in our lives. When I begin to consider the appropriate adjectives that seemed to fit MAME, I thought of 3 or 4 like loyal, caring, considerate and loving. Then more - thoughtful, responsible, frugal, generous and loving. More again  sharing, dedicated, determined and family oriented and loving. You likely have your own list!

All in all, MAME was a perfect clone of her mother and we all benefitted from being members of her family  mostly sharing and loving.

Her home was always open to wanderers looking for temporary asylum  including even me. Her arms were always open to any of us.

Through her whole life, which has its own challenges, she never lost sight of her faith upbringing. Thanks for Emmett Johns and demonstrated b the presence od (Fr.) Joe Gorman here today. Her dedication to her Lord, Jesus Christ, was unbending even in these last difficult months. And some of us who prayed with her and for her will continue to live that faith knowing that she is experiencing the ultimate goal of all believers, happiness in heaven, which she truly deserves.

In conclusion, I want to thank (Fr.) Joe Gorman for his presence here today. Joe, MAME knew you would be here today to help her on her way and I believe that gave her the peace to ease the battle she fought so hard.

I also want to thank, on behalf of our family, MAME's husband Vern, he was her rock. Always at her side, through thick and thin. Vern, you are truly an inspiration to us all. We know that the rest of your life will be challenging but we will always be there for you whenever you might need a shoulder or support of any kind. God bless and keep you. I know MAME will be watching over you and all of us, as always, wanting to keep us happy and safe.

Goodbye my sweet MAME until we meet again. Thank you from all of us, we love you.

Auntie Lynn was definitely our angel, but she was also an angel to everyone in her life. Although she is no longer with us in body she will always be with us in spirit, watching over each and every one of us. She will live on through our memories, through her family, and be a newfound angel for our children. I want to share something with all of you that is a little tough to explain, but I believe that Auntie Lynn wanted me to pass it on to let everyone know she's ok. When Auntie Lynn passed away peacefully last weekend I felt her soul touch me as it left her body. And even though it was one of the toughest things I have ever experienced I couldn't help but smile. I truly believe that Auntie Lynn was telling me something, telling me not to be sad, letting me know that she was at peace, and reminding me to remember all the good that she was. So as we all grieve and say goodbye in our own way just remember it's ok, and all she wants us to do is smile.

On July 25, 1981  I got a new Step-mom. I was nervous; I'd never had a step-mom before. Was she going to be an evil step-mom like Cinderella's? No, turns out, what I got was my very-own, personal Fairy God-Mother.

I remember, about 15 years ago, a conversation we had. My dad, my husband Todd, my mom and I. We were talking about our purpose. Why were we here? What was the point? Lynn said  with that wisdom she had that we were here to Love. To give love and to receive love. You know, she totally nailed that!  She had so much love to give; we were all recipients of that amazing love (and wonderful wisdom). I can see the evidence of her love here today. I see it in all of us.

This past week, the past few months, these past eighteen months have been a roller coaster. Now that today is here, I really wish it wasn't. So, in preparation, I've been spending too much time in my head. I keep looking forward at all we are going to miss. At what I'm going to miss. At what my amazing children will miss. I keep yelling at myself to focus on what we did have , what we were able to do, and at everything we were able to enjoy. And there's a lot. Many, many great memories. Wonderful, cherished moments. I keep telling myself  what an incredible gift we all had. We were so lucky. So Loved.

I know that my mom has shaped me into the person I am, the wife I am, into the mother I am. She was a great role-model. A fabulous listener. And, an amazing cook. I'm grateful for the time I has with her; just wish it was longer.

I'd like to say this to Nonni, but since she's not here, I will say this to you. I love Nonni, and she's amazing.

Thank you for coming today. I'm sure that Nonni would be very happy to see you all because you are all a part of her life and people that she has loved and cared about. And each and every one of you are special to her in your own way because Nonni has so much love to share.

So I just want to say, we should all be happy for her, because she will see her family in heaven and not hell. Because she is such an amazing person helping us in life, never breaking promises and always finding a solution for our problems.

Good Morning.

Lynn was a quiet, soft-spoken, person with a deep love for the people around her. Thank you all for coming today to celebrate the life of this beautiful person.  She had a passion for nuturing and caring for children. A part of this passion was satisfied with her career at the Montreal Children's Hospital.

She met my children, Tracey and Steve, when they were young and came to love them very quickly. As they were living in Vancouver, at that time, she didn't get to see them often enough. When we discovered that we were unalbe to have children of our own, the Good Lord, in his wisdom and compassion for Lynn sent Chase, Katie and Ryan for her to love. The loss of Ryan to an aneurism at a young age affected her deeply. She also loved the Rozolawski boys like they were her own and felt priveliged to see them grow up to become such considerate and loving adults. She was devastated when Andrew succumbed to cancer. 

Lynn shared a mother's love with all these children and found a place for them in her heart. She would light up whenever Chase and Katie came to visit or spoke to her on the phone. She looked forward to the many times we went to the numerous arenas to see Katie perform. Katie is a bundle of joy that lights up the room when she enters. Her enthusiasm and love of life defines her. Chase was such an outgoing child who was always happy and loved to be with his Auntie Lynn. He made her laugh and smile from ear to ear. It is hard to express the love she had for these two scamps, but as children must do, they grow up to become adults ready to start their own families. She was so proud when both of them chose exceptional people to share their lives with.

She no longer had children in close proximity and I could sense her feeling of emptiness. Lynn was exceptionally thrilled when Tracey became pregnant. Becoming a grandmother was a wonderful blessing for her.  Can you imagine how she felt when she ended up with 3 beautiful granddaughters?  To say she doted on them would be an understatement. You should see my converted man cave. A veritable ocean of pink, with dresses, toys, crafts and drawings everywhere. We have a permanent bedroom in our home for them that would make the three bears and the Disney princesses envious.

Family was the main focus of her life and everyone knew that they could rely on Lynn to be there, always rooting for them, from skating competitions, to soccer games, to plays and numerous birthday parties and gatherings. She kept in constant touch with her brothers as well as the whole Beauregard and Cunningham families, parents and children alike, and would jump at any opportunity to go visit them regardless of where they lived. Soon after Lynn was diagnosed with cancer, we went to Kingston to see our nephew Kevin performing in RARE, a play performed by and about people living with Downs Syndrome. It was a wonderful and heart wrenching play only made more memorable when Kevin brought the bouquet of flowers he received, for being a cast member, directly from the stage to his Auntie Mame.

She felt a special kinship to Todd and Jen, as they are married to my kids and everyone knows that being married to a Cunningham takes an unusual amount of patience and understanding. Lynn was their guiding light and the one to go to for sage advice and comfort. As a group, Lynn, Todd and Jen would roll their eyes and sigh in unison when one of us would make an unfiltered comment. 
Her love was not limited to the under 30 crowd. She was generous with her love and gave it willingly to all. 

The bonds she forged with her close circle of friends were special and unbreakable. She chose them wisely and they, in turn, were very good to her especially in her time of need. I want to personally thank them for their compassion and the love they gave unconditionally to her these last 18 months.  You are exceptional and I love you for it.

When we look back on Lynn's life, we can see that she gave her love to all unfailingly, and without expectations. But she was also giving us something more. Lynn was teaching us the fundamental lesson on how to better love one another. This is a legacy I truly hope will endure, A legacy of love upon which we can all build.

Coming up with the right words to say has been the most difficult thing I have ever had to do. When you have known and loved someone for 55 years, the bond that is created is unique and deeply rooted. Two people become one and when you are separated, you are no longer whole. Something important goes missing. I know that the loss and pain I feel today is shared by all of us here today and I have been assured that the pain will be more bearable over time.
I sincerely hope this is true.
