Dear Fred, 
We truly miss the beautiful, warm smile and laughter of Maple. Her energy, charm and love for life is sorely missed. Maple touched our hearts in a profound way and words cannot truly express how much she was loved. In our home the touch of her charm can be seen with some of the arrangements she made. Along the way I learned much from Maple. As we come towards the close of 2020 there are many moments that we reflect upon. However Maple will always loom large with much joy and laughter when we think back on the times spent together. I remember turning 7 years old and meeting them for the first time as my foster parents I had an amazing time there and I struggled growing into a teenager and made some mistakes that I could never forgive myself for but with her love and grace that god showed her she forgave me and can never thank them for more for the things I learned as she was an amazing loving and caring foster mother

I was really heartbroken to learn of her passing. I work at a grocery store in Aurora which she frequented: We started chatting when I complimented her outfits! We always had a nice talk when she shopped - and over the years - I’d like to think that we became friends! 

She knew of my career ambitions, and always had the most thoughtful and optimistic remarks.  Her encouragement and kindness were drivers of my huge smile every time she walked into my produce section. 

I hope her family and loved ones enjoy hearing that she was every bit as wonderful and radiant to people you’ve never met - as you remember her from your own relationships. 

This is a huge loss of a real treasure. I send my deepest sympathies and warmest regards to everyone who loved her dearly.

Maple was such a gracious person. So warm and caring to all. She will be remembered warmly by everyone she met. Best wishes to Fred -- may you find some comfort in good memories. 

Maple 🍁 was a blessing to our family. She lived a godly life and we could see it in all she does. Always ready and willing to give of herself.  Every time  from now on when I see the maple tree which will be every day I will always remember her.  
Maple we will miss you dearly so rest until the resurrection morning.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family of Maple Porter-Balaz.  We have known Maple for over 50 years.  I first met her when we worked together at a school in Falmouth, Jamaica.
After years apart we met up again in Toronto and our friendship reconnected right away.
Maple was friendly, helpful, caring and very entertaining.. We often met for celebratory dinners together with other friends,
and she will be sadly missed.  However, we have the assurance that on the resurrection morning, we shall meet again, never more to part.

So sad to hear of Maple's passing.  She was such a delightful  and caring soul.  I found her artistic creativity most inspiring.

I have fond memories of  her through the Newcomers Club and other social events.  She was a wonderful hostess.



I'm saddened by the news of Maple's passing. It has been a number of years since I last saw her and her beautiful smile. 

I fondly remember Maple's warmth and hospitality.  Fred & Maple were a dynamic duo.  When you saw Maple, Fred was always close by.  She always had such care and compassion for my Mom ( Sis Walsh).  I will never forget that.

We remember Maple as a warm and caring person. For over thirty years we do not recall ever seeing Maple upset. She was always smiling and ready to lend a helping hand. Maple had a great sense of humor and showed inclusiveness with the people she associated with.
Maple was always concerned about Fred’s ( her husband) comfort. Those of us who visited her home, were always made to feel welcome.
Maple loved the Lord and demonstrated love for others. We will miss her laughter and warmth.

Maple will be fondly remembered by me and my family. I met her 21 years ago at Kingsview Village SDA church , when I moved here from Jamaica. She was always stately, warm and peaceful. We always had good conversations and she was always complimentary  to me whenever I did any presentations. Whenever she visited our home she never came empty-handed as she was very classy and comes from an era where respect and decorum were staples. I will remember her walk (more like a glide than a saunter) and her greetings (a smile and gentle touch) fondly. May she Rest In Peace! My condolences to her family and friends!

Aunt Maple had smiles to brighten your days, she always made you felt great with her warm words of encouragement.  She was the definition of discipline, friendly, humble and generous personality. The memories shared  with family, friends and relatives will forever lives on in our hearts. May your soul rest in peace dear aunt.

Maple Adella Balaz affectionately called dear aunt, sister and sister Crist. Her neices and nephews called her dear aunt .Her sisters called her sister. While others in the community of Porter's Mountain called her sister  Crist. She was called sister Crist because of her lovely voice and walking. One would say she walked with' greesion '.   
   I had fun memories with her while I was in Aurora . She was a very strict,discipline, generous,loving, intelligent and God fairing person . Whenever she had devotion on Friday evenings, all of us must participated in prayer or memorise a Bible verse. 
  One morning she said to me, let us have a light breakfast , because am taking you to this restaurant called 'Eat as You  Want' to have lunch.  Wow!  I saw varieties of delicious food on the menu, I don't know which one to choose. I was so filled , I said dear aunt am so filled, I can't moved. She laughed. We  chat all day , she told me about some of her experiences in her childhood days, and many more experiences she had . She took me to many  excited places ,paid the bill without my knowledge.
  On Xmas we look forward for our Christmas money from her. Bibs, Winfield, Bogie, Punce , Kerry and myself. We all got our portion. She will be sadly missed by us in here in Jamaica and aboard. Especially her loving husband,daughter, grandchildren,sisters,brother, nieces, nephews ,other relatives and friends. She was such a great person ,a mentor and motivator . She had lived a good life ,but if we be faithful we can rest assured we will see her again. May her soul rest in peace. Your niece.

Once in our lifetime , we may know someone whose personality is so dynamic that they just shine yet they also bring out the best in others. My Aunt Maple was such a person.

She taught me not to just live life , but to do it in such a way that you can reach for the stars.  Just don’t love, love deeply. Also, help others to see how they can flourish too.  

Aunt Maple , left a profound impact on the lives of those who were privileged to have known her. My way of remembering my Dear Aunt, is to put into practice her words of wisdom. 

She lived a life that not only shined but dazzled! Our lives are enriched because she was a part of it. 

Words are never enough to capture the loss of a loved one. As a Member of the family, Maple being my first cousin, I share the loss but can only comfort her immediate siblings Kathy, Ed, Pat and Das with a word of cheer and a pleasant memory.  

Maple was the embodiment of grace, elegance and sophistication.  No one who met her left without being touched by her classiness  and poise.  Everything she touched was seasoned with joy and marinated in lots of love.   I remember her for those pleasant qualities. 

She lived life completely. She will be missed.  Her influence on others will be eternal.  Rest In Peace Maple. 

You were truly a great leader, an outstanding mother- in-law, a loving mother and grandmother, with the kindest heart.  Wendy, the boys and I will miss you more then words can express.

I so fondly remember my dear sister in Christ, she was a big part of our womans ministries, and we spent many delightful hours in her home for breakfast meetings. Maple was always there to help in any way she could. She was an inspiration and  a blessing to me and I'm sure  all those she came in contact  with.  She will be greatly missed. Rest now my sister, Jesus is coming soon. 

Hi family and friends - it’s Faye Chambers from the U K.  As you all know we are here at this time to share our grief. 

I speak with real sadness in my heart knowing that my dear cousin Maple  is no longer with us. I know that each of you in this family and dear friends are hurting so much - especially her dear husband Fred, her daughter Wendy Ann and grandsons Bonski and Miles as I remember them. 

I am so sad that I cannot reach out physically to hold your hands, to comfort you all and to offer a tissue to wipe your tears.  I am glad though, that we can reach out virtually to share our sadness and grief of Maples passing. 

Each one of us is valued and respected am sure in our own ways, but Maple was considered the Matriarch of the Chambers family. She was the dearest, nicest person one can ever hope to meet. She reaches out not only to her dear husband Fred and their daughter and grandsons but to her much loved sisters, brother, nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and even strangers that cross her path. 

I spent 3 1/2 months with Maple and Fred a few years ago. On the last day she handed me a photo album of our journey together there. Wonderful memories. I loved her to bits. She was a good christian. She is sleeping now and I hope one day we will meet again in the earth made new. May God bless you all. 

Wendy , Fred and Pat I know that words cannot shield the heart from the pain of losing  your loved one. but I hope it helps a bit to know that others care.
