A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, Marge was cherished and loved by all who knew her. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, unconditional love and giving heart, and deeply missed by her family who thought the world of her. She leaves behind her family:
Husband: Robert Brian Murray
Children: Chris (Junko) Murray; Cate (Duncan) Murray; Miriam (Carl Christian) Vetter
Grandchildren: Dylan & Ryan Murray; Lilly & Ellie Meechan; Marie-Sophie & Anna-Lena Vetter; Keaton & Owen Hills.
Sisters & Brother: Gayle Stewart; Joan Monte; Dianne (Tony) Rizutto; Graham (Lois) Griffin
The Dogs: Yusuke, Hana, Archie and Bali
Marge always put her family first and demonstrated this every day through acts large and small. She loved to garden and worked tirelessly on her garden and pots, as well as those of her less skilled children. She ruled the kitchen and was famous for Christmas coffee cake, lasagna, and fruit salads. Family meals around her table brought her the most joy, especially when BBQ ribs and corn on the cob were involved. Marge was also adored by the family dogs who all loved her. Now, she is with Henry the beagle and giving him a good walk through the clouds of heaven.
Marge was a successful female entrepreneur at a time when this was not a typical path for women. She and her husband, Brian launched two successful business that spanned nearly 50 years. Thanks to their efforts thousands of couples across Canada received marriage preparation courses that shaped their futures. Marge felt passionately about women’s rights, world peace and climate change. She believed we all have a personal responsibility to the earth on which we live and did everything she could do to minimize her environmental footprint. Until her last day she was an avid news watcher deeply concerned about the state of the world.
Marge’s legacy is her example as a wife, mother, and grandmother by teaching all of us the importance of being kind, caring and mindful in all we contribute.
She will be dearly missed but always with us showing us the right path and reminding us to turn off the lights and put a sweater on if we’re cold, and not to make a fuss.
