

Margo Heather Goodger, born on September 16, 1946, in Vancouver, British Columbia, passed away on November 27, 2025, at the age of 79. Margo was a faithful, inspirational, and devoted individual whose life was a testament to her deep commitment to her family, community, and faith.
Margo served as a Minister with the Salvation Army for 20 years across Northern and Southern Ontario, Manitoba, and Newfoundland. She further contributed as a Salvation Army Administrator for 10 years in Victoria, Vancouver, and Toronto. Also for 3 years in development at Meighen Retirement Residence. Her dedication to her work was complemented by her involvement in youth and women's programs, leaving a lasting impact on those she served.
Margo was a cherished wife to Martyn Goodger. She was a loving mother to her daughter Miriam Dos Anjos and her husband Mike, and her son John Goodger and his wife Amanda. She was predeceased by her son Andrew Goodger in 2022. Margo was a proud grandmother to Mason Dos Anjos, Makayla Dos Anjos, Mark Goodger, and Ashlyn Frost, and a great-grandmother to Jaden Goodger. She was a sister to the late Murray Smart and his wife Sharron, Stewart Smart and his wife Judith, and stepsister to Anne Rach and her husband Pete. Margo was also a sister-in-law to Roger Goodger and Sandra Goodger.
Known for her remarkable singing voice, Margo continued to inspire with her music until her throat surgery.
In an interview in Faith & Friends about her tattoo (https://salvationist.ca/articles/every-picture-tells-a-story-margo-goodger/) she said , “God, use this tattoo for Your honour and glory,” reflects her unwavering faith and humility. She would often add, “Not my honour and glory. This is for God.”
Full of life, endlessly loved, and always making us laugh. Her infectious smile lit up every room, and she never hesitated to say things exactly as she saw them. Her honesty, humour, and love will live on in all of us.
A memorial service to celebrate Margo's life will be held at Thompson Funeral Home, located at 530 Industrial Parkway South, Aurora, Ontario, L4G 6W8, in the Chapel on Saturday November 29, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. A reception will follow in the Heritage Room starting at 12:00 pm.
