Maria Zlatanovski Miles

Passed away peacefully on January 24, 2012 at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket after a courageous fight. Maria was born on February 10, 1958 in Gevgelia, Yugoslavia and immigrated to Canada with her family in 1966. Maria was a very strong and adventurous person that was also caring and compassionate, and left a lasting impression with those she knew. Maria is the loving mother of daughters Jaclyn, Jennifer and Julia, beloved wife of Brian, daughter of Teodora and Zlatan, sister of Oliver (Rose) and Alex (Rhonda), predeceased by her brother Zoran, step-mother to Jonathan (Jennifer) and James (Christine), grandmother of Jody-Anne, Lucas, Jenson and Tyler, aunt of Oliver, Christopher, Erik, Kelsey, Kristina (Michael), Nikolas, Kristian, Katherine, Emilee and Michael, great-aunt of Zachary and Hunter. A celebration of her life will be held at Aurora United Church, 15186 Yonge St. (south of Wellington St.), Aurora, 905-727-1935 on Friday, January 27 at1:30pm followed by a reception at the church where all are warmly invited. The family would like to acknowledge the competence, caring and empathy of the people of Southlake R.H.C., and the Stronach Cancer Centre. In lieu of flowers donations in Maria’s name to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
