Born in Brampton, ON, Paul grew up in Caledon East, ON with his two sisters Marlene (d.1998) and Lee. His parents Lloyd (2007) and Evelyn (1977) moved from Caledon East to North York where Paul attended Northview Heights Secondary School. It was there that Paul played football and landed a football scholarship to Ohio State University. Paul then moved back home and finished his business degree at Ryerson in Toronto.
In his career Paul worked in many executive roles across North America, in his later years Paul took on passion projects with the Mississaugi First Nation community securing funding for endeavours that would bring revenue to the community. Until just days before he passed, Paul was working on an aqua-fir project and was so excited to see it come to completion.
Paul was a kind, caring and charismatic man who loved his family and his longtime friends with all his heart. He was an avid hunter and a regular bridge player; never missing a chance to spend time with his buddies. He always had time for everyone in his life, never missing a chance to catch up on the phone or in person.
He will be so very missed by his three daughters; Jennifer (Conal), Leigh (Theo) and Andrea (Peter) and his eight grandchildren Evelyn, Harrison, Elle, Alexander, Emily, Theodore, Kate and Charlotte; his sister Lee; previous wife Wendy; his many nieces and nephews and all of his lifelong friends. Paul’s death comes two years after a diagnosis of cancer that was managed by the wonderful team at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto. The family would also like to thank the Oak Valley Health Palliative care team that ensured Paul was able to spend his final days in the comfort of home.
A celebration of life for Paul will be held Monday, April 10, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Thompson Funeral Home, 530 Industrial Parkway South, Aurora, ON L4G6W8.
