

He was born in Middenmeer in the province of North Holland and came over by boat which took 10 days and landed in Quebec July 29, 1949. Survived by his daughter Margeret and son Michael. Brother to John (Kay) sisters-in-law Greta (Casey, 2020), Betty (Bill "Dutch", 2002). Predeceased by his wife Catherine (2018) and sister Nellie (2010). An Uncle, great Uncle, and great, great Uncle to many nieces & nephews.
Peter started off working for Cam Richardson at the mink ranch and then worked for the associated fur breeders and moved to Aurora where he was in charge of the walk-in freezers where chickens waste and fish waste were frozen in large blocks that was then transported to Fergus to be mixed in with other foods for mink feed. While living on the property he drove school bus during the day and at night worked for checkerboard (GFM) hauling chickens from southern Ontario and Quebec to be processed for grocery stores and KFC. He also had a hobby as a beekeeper and every Christmas he would give everyone a jar of honey and a candle statue of the Virgin Mary made from the bees wax
He was also a member of the Fergus Car Club and had many friends.
A visitation for Peter will be held Thursday, August 22, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Thompson Funeral Home, 530 Industrial Parkway South, Aurora, ON L4G 6W8 followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. A reception will follow immediately afterwards. Cremation.
