

Ray passed away peacefully at the IOOF in Barrie on Monday July 10, 2017, in his 94th year. He is predeceased by his wife Phyllis (Kynock, 1932-1981). Raymond was born in Nova Scotia on May 1, 1923, a son of the late Cranmer and Yolande Hennigar. He was the loving father to son Terry of Udora, daughter Linda (Paul) Tweedley of Minesing, daughter Paula (Louie) Coassin of Barrie and soon to be Nova Scotia, and son Tim of Newcastle. Grampa Ray will be lovingly remembered by his seven grandchildren. Anthony (Angela), Alex (Veronica), Louie (Evelyn), Greg (Jess), Justine (Tomasz), Anna (Chris), Alan (Alicia), and six great grandchildren, Ellie, Meredith, Cara, Madison, Kalei and Jackson. He served in the RCAF, Squadron 429 in the Second World War, collected coins, played a mean hand of Euchre, loved a shot of good scotch and hated our beloved Toronto Maple Leafs. Raymond is the brother of Genevive Hennigar of Ottawa and is predeceased by sisters Gloria McNiel of St. Catherines, ON, Margaret Walsh of Fredericton, NB, Christine Fair of Dartmouth, NS, and brothers Arnold and Gordon Hennigar of Toronto, ON. A special thank you to the staff at the IOOF in Barrie, your understanding of, and care for our Dad has never gone unnoticed. There will be a private family service and his remains will be cremated and interred with Phyllis in the Aurora Cemetery, Aurora, ON.
