Ruth Catherine (Fraser) Rea

Ruth Rea (née Fraser), 87, most recently of Swan Lake, Markham, passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2019. Ruth, predeceased by her husband John Rea and her son-in-law John Lavery, passed peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her four children Brian Rea (Susan Houston), Catherine Lavery (John), Kevin Rea (Colleen Sullivan), and Heather Rea. She will also be missed by her eight grandchildren; Jessica, Alison, Ashling, Samantha, Samuel, Gavin, Sarah, and Keenan; her extended family; and her many friends.

Born in Toronto, Ruth grew up down the street from her future husband, with whom she travelled the world before settling back in the Toronto area late in retirement. Ruth and John raised their children in Arvida and Beaconsfield, Quebec, and in Limerick, Ireland as part of the Alcan family. Together, they continued a fulfilling life in retirement in Sarnia and Aurora. Ruth has enjoyed pursuing her passions (like bridge, painting, travel, and spoiling her grandchildren) over the last decade at Swan Lake.
