Shayan was a very bright boy with a kind soul and it was always enjoyable to talk with him or see him interact with other boys.  He could have a conversation about any topic with adults, and then show a funny side talking to the Gang a minute later. 
We saw him training badmington, basketball, voleyball and he always  showed his dedication and trained harder than anyone else, he was an example of perseverance and dedication.
Many other memories come to our mind of the times we spoke with Shayan since elementary school, at the park, birthday parties, playing on the snow, sliding down the snowy hills, walking Lucky, driving the Gang to places. 
We were often discussing what he would study in university, and we thought he could be a great doctor, but he really could have been anything he wanted, he was just that smart and talented.
Every time we remember him a smile comes to our face, he was a a real life superstar. It was a blessing to have Shayan in our lives and he will always be in our minds and his light will keep shining in our hearts forever.

I met Shayan through my dear friends Aiden, Ceiran, Eric and Aveer. And immediately we became good friends. He was someone that would always bring joy and a sense of humour into every single hangout we had with him, whether it was going to the movies, playing basketball, spending time at the cottage or hanging out doing late night campfires at Aiden’s house. These memories were made unforgettable because of him, and now they are one of my most cherished moments in my life. He always had a way of making everything more fun, lighting up the room with his great personality and humour. He was also incredibly intelligent and someone you could learn from, whether it was simple jokes to deep talks about life. He was more than just a friend, but a close one who was truly an inspiration and a source of positivity to others. I will forever keep him deep in my heart, and his memory will always stay with me for as long as time exists. From the bottom of my heart, I am sending my deepest thoughts and prayers to his family during this very difficult period of time, and I wish his family all the best.

Shayan was a student in our class many years ago at Le Club child care but his memory has never faded. Shayan had a light about him—a quiet strength, a kind heart, caring , loving and always there to support anyone in need he had a smile that could brighten the  whole classroom. He was the kind of student who left a lasting impression, not just because of what he did, but because of who he was.

Loosing Shayan deeply affected us as people who cared for him. We are grateful to have known Shayan and to have shared even a small part of his journey. His memory will live on in our hearts, in the books he loved, and in the quiet, gentle way he touched our lives.

Dearest Negar, Reza and Maya,

Words cannot express the immense pain we feel of loosing our Shayan. We can feel and understand your terribly pain and don't have words to console you three. We still feel that Shayan is here with all of us. It is extremely hard and difficult to accept that he is not.

He was a very kind, loving, respectful, thoughtful, talented, smart and fun-loving Child. Whom,  the GANG friends adored and looked up to for inspiration.

He was very much loved by the GANG friends and their parents and made so many memories with them be it at Bondlake PS, Playdays, Childhood Birthday parties, Trips to Wonderland, SummerCamps or to Aiden's Cottage.

He was a loving soul who loved his friends dearly and was always happy to spend time with them for hours.
They had endless fun and made lots of memories together.

Those memories will stay in all our HEARTS, NOW and FOREVER.

I had the greatest pleasure to teach such a bright, kind and curious student that Shayan was in our Gr.9 French Class. I could always count on him to have something to share during class discussions, and he was always very inquisitive about learning French. Thinking about the family and sending strength and peace.

Dear Shayan,

We are so fortunate to have known you and see you grow up to be the smart confident guy you became. You were always the one among “the gang” to have a conversation with the parents - always so respectful, mature and with a logical POV :)

I clearly remember the day when “the gang” decided to have a 🌶️ eating contest, you all were probably 10. You were the bravest one to try not one but two bites and still say “that’s nothing” and asked me to find a spicier sauce to try! All the lovely moments “the gang” spent talking over each other, over a meal/ activity, still brings a smile to my face!
 
Shayan, we will miss your gentle nature and charming personality. But, the times we spent with you will always stay in our heart ❤️ Stay happy where are you are kiddo!

Dearest Shayan,

We will forever remember the magical moments at the cottage, your wittiness, your amazing sense of humour, and how you stimulated your surroundings. 

Aiden and you would deliberate together, with unique wit. I remember Aiden coming home and sharing that you wanted to be a dentist. Aiden wasn’t sure what he wanted to do, so I asked him, “Why does Shayan want to be a dentist?” And he said, “It’s because it pays well.” So we collaborated and came back to you, asking, “If you don’t mind being a dentist for the pay, why don’t you consider being a proctologist, where there’s even more money?” We just laughed and laughed, knowing you might actually consider it.

You shared your maturity, openness, and were always there to talk, to chat, to laugh, and to share. 

I remember you taking the canoe at the cottage, always with a life jacket on, and later, when you were older, without your shirt, paddling independently up and down the lake. You observed maturely, keeping everyone happy and having fun. You were always cooking on our trips, always in charge of the food, the breakfast, the eggs, and kitchen management.

We will miss you, Shayan. But your memories and contributions will stay with us forever. You left us with Maya, Mikayla’s best friend, who continues to be part of our family. So, through Maya, and independent of her, with Reza and Negar, your amazing parents, we will still have you with us.

Shayan was an amazing friend. He often had his own way of doing things, motivated in his own ways, but was accomplished and talented nonetheless. He was always positive and willing to help and teach others, no matter how abstract it was. I'll definitely miss his spontaneous showcases of his musescore arrangements and his music theory or math lessons that went way beyond surface level.

I first met Shayan in grade 9, and it was always fun to talk, work, or play basketball with him. His passion for music and clarinet was extraordinary, playing and practicing practically everyday during lunch. We even did an escape room and it was lots of fun with his personality and out-of-the-box thinking (though we did fail to escape). He had a huge impact on our repertoire band and the other small ensembles he was in, always playing near-perfectly and helping a bunch of us out. He always was hyper-focused on a task, whether chess, for music, or in pursuit of highly-complicated math knowledge.

He was truly a great friend, musician, and débrouillard (smart cookie) destined for immense success. My deepest condolences to Shayan's family. May he rest in peace.

As someone who didn’t know a lot about Shayan, I truly wish I did. From all the condolences I’ve read, he was definitely a smart and hardworking classmate. The one moment I have spoken to him back in grade 9 for music, he was really kind and didn’t judge me for the silly questions I’ve asked during projects, and then during plying day, I can tell he’s really dedicated in playing the clarinet, he was definitely one of the best in our school. Even on band days, whether it’s early in the morning or after school, he would be either early or on time and ready to play and really focused in his music.

It was such a sad news hearing that he passed so early in life but he’s achieved so much at just the age of 16.  Deepest condolences to his family and friends, I can’t imagine how much you’re going through but I send you all my wishes. May he rest in peace.

Shayan was less of a friend and more of a brother to me. Shayan was one of my first and best friends in Canada. From when we first met in grade 2, to all the memories we made along the way. I would always love to come over, and eventually our sisters became friends as well.
Even after he changed schools, we tried our best to keep in touch, and ended up still being pretty close and seeing each other regularly.
There was never a boring moment with Shayan, wether we were biking and he was making jokes, wether we were at the park playing basketball, or wether it was late at night around the fire telling stories. There wasn't a single second where he was distant or sad, he was always in the moment having the best time he could, and giving us the best time we could have.
I'm sorry for the loss of a beautiful and cheerful soul, my condolences to his family and friends. Gone too soon.

Shayan was one of my closest friends and was always a great one. I met him in grade two and we became friends instantly. I introduced him to Eric and Aveer, and later on Aiden as well. We hung out every single day whether it was going to the park, going to one of our houses or  going to robotics at the STEAM project. 
Even when he went to a different school in grade five, all of us still saw each other regularly. 

No matter what happened he was able to make all of us laugh and was easily the most fun person to debate with. Even more so than his ability to make us laugh, he was incredibly talented and smart. I truly enjoyed every single moment I spent with him and it pains me that I am unable to spend anymore time with him. 

My deepest condolences to his family and friends, he truly was one of a kind. Gone too soon.

I first met Shayan in elementary school. He was always friendly and we would always goof off during class and play chess. It suprised me to see how good Shayan was at clarinet when I entered highschool. He never struck me as a musical person, not in elementary school at least. I was suprised, but also inspired, if he could be that dedicated, why couldn’t I. Shayan was always so positive and I really appreciated him for that. I don’t remember one time where he put someone else down. I truly regret not talking and interacting with him more. Rest in Peace Shayan, we will miss you.

I met Shayan in Grade 7 when I moved to Aurora, and he was always a pretty cool guy, always being lighthearted and friendly. I didn't know him too well, but I know that he was an outstanding guy. Took from this Earth far too soon, may his soul rest in peace, and my prayers go out to his family.

Our son cherished his friendship with Shayan throughout their school years together.

Ever since I found out, I've been thinking about what to write. It's impossible to put into words the effect that Shayan had on everyone's lives. He was such a genuinely pure and kind soul. I don't think there's a single bad thing anyone can say about him.

I met Shayan in Wellington in grade 4, 6 years ago—such a friendly guy. We didn't talk a lot, but I'd still consider him a friend. We sat near each other in the band, we were both clarinet players. He made every single rehearsal and nailed every piece (unlike me). Every time I was confused about a piece or a note, he was the first person I would turn to. Though I didn't nail every piece, he never judged me when I messed up, even on the easiest parts. I always meant to ask him how he got his tone so clear. I never did. 

As one of my only other Persian classmates, I always felt a connection to Shayan. He had that effect on people. No one ever felt too nervous to talk to him; he exuded a kind aura that was so warm and inviting. It's hard to believe that this unfair world took him so early. May his soul rest in everlasting peace.

I was friends with him in grade 2 and 3. Despite that being a long time ago and I’ve since moved to Quebec, I still have really fond memories of being friends with him. He was incredibly social, extroverted and just a joy to be around. He was also insanely good at drawing dragons, I remember me and my best friend would admire his work and loved watching him draw. He was hilarious and always brought such a light hearted energy with him, even at such a young age.

He was truly an amazing person, and I hope he rests in peace 💜

Our son and Shayan were the best of friends when they were in school together, from grade 4 to grade 8. We fondly remember the stories, the birthday parties, their adventures in school, the laughter and the good times. For a time, we only heard stories about Shayan …. A beautiful friendship.

Shayan sat next to me in business class and would greet me before sitting down every day. I remember how proud he was when he posted his first composition on YouTube and asked me to watch it. He was a talented musician, deeply dedicated to improving his understanding of music.

Shayan’s talent and kind personality touched many of us. He will be remembered not only for his creativity but also for the small gestures that brightened our days.

Although I wasn't as close to him, I can tell from the times we spoke and the things I head others say that Shayan was such a kind, smart, and talented person. Every day during lunch, he would be in the music room playing his clarinet. He practiced pieces beyond our school's band music, displaying his determined dedication to his instrument. Listening to Shayan play on his clarinet while eating my lunch will forever be part of my memories. His attention to detail in not only the music pieces, but also school projects was unbelievable.  His enthusiasm really showed how he wanted to be better, especially by challenging himself in subjects like math and science. I remember in English class last semester, while everyone else was chatting to each other while we had a break, Shayan was reading a science-related study on his computer. Seeing him always motivated me to do better in my studies. One of our first group activities in the beginning of the year that we participated in really showed how friendly and humorous he was. Shayan always lightened the atmosphere by making jokes and making everyone laugh. He was a very considerate person who took care of himself and everyone else. A prominent time was when I really needed hand lotion for my dry skin, and Shayan was the only one who had and offered it to me. This just shows how much he cares for the people around him.

There are so many more memories that I wish could share, but not enough words to express them. 

Shayan, you were truly a remarkable person and I really hope that you're in a better place now. 16 is a young age, but I'm sure you've made a number of significant achievements in these years. I also hope you know that you will always be remembered in every single one of our hearts.

I wasn’t a super close friend to Shayan, but I saw him every single day practicing clarinet during lunch in the same room where I ate. It always amazed me, how dedicated of a student he was. I couldn’t fathom being so devoted to something in your life- but that’s exactly what Shayan was to the clarinet. And he was incredible at it too, one of the best in the entire band. It is so strange and upsetting to me that he will no longer be there, playing beautiful music for all. That room will not be the same without his melodies.

Not only was he a genius at music, Shayan was also incredibly intelligent and he was meant to go places. In the classes I shared with him, he always asked questions that went above and beyond, questions that I would not have thought about in a thousand years. He was extremely gifted and he was, without a doubt, destined for success and prosperity.

I got a chance to listen to Shayna’s compositions on Musescore today, and they are so immensely amazing. I could not believe that someone of our age could come up with pieces so creative. Shayan will be missed. May he rest in peace.

I was never too close with Shayan but from everything that I knew of him, I knew that he was extremely hardworking, talented, and a kind person. I eat lunch in 1065 (our music room) every single day and at 12:50 sharp, the first person who would walk through the door was always Shayan. He wouldn't say anything but rather silently set up his clarinet and practice until the period ended. I always loved listening to him play and it became part of my daily lunch routine. His dedication and attention to detail goes beyond words. His presence has always been felt whether that's in band or in orchestra. 

I am beyond grateful to have met Shayan and to have had the opportunity to be in the same band as him. My heart goes out to his family during this time of loss and grief. 

Shayan, thank you so much for the impact you've had on all of us. 1065 will always have a place for you and you will be remembered forever in our hearts.

Wherever he went, he brought with him joy for those around him. Though I didn’t know him very well, it is without a doubt that he was one of the kindest, caring, and humble souls I’ve ever seen. From the few moments I know, he was very polite and caring, and lit up any room he walked into. 

I wish I’d gotten to know him better and to see the outstanding person he was. His humility and effort in school was truly one of a kind. Ever since joining band I’ve sat behind Shayan, and his dedication to music was an inspiration to me. He always carried with him his clarinet, and practiced whenever he had the chance.

My heart goes out to his family. I’m deeply sorry for your loss, and I can’t nearly imagine the grief you must be going through at this time.

Shayan was truly one of a kind, an amazing person whose kindness, warmth, and strength of character touched everyone around him. He carried himself with a quiet confidence and grace, always polite and well-mannered. I had the privilege of knowing him as more than just a friend.

When we took our lifeguarding courses together, Shayan pushed me to reach new heights. He believed in me, often encouraging me to dig deeper and do better, even when I doubted myself. That unwavering belief made all the difference, and I owe much of my growth to him. He wasn’t just a friend in those moments but brother. 

I am forever grateful to have crossed paths with someone as remarkable as Shayan, and my heart goes out to his family in this time of grief.

I wish I had gotten to know Shayan better. Though unfortunately I wasn’t too close with him, I know for a fact that he was a positive and genuine friend who lit up the rooms he walked into, and put a smile on the people he spoke to. Wherever he went, he always carried with him his clarinet, laptop, and a heart of gold that never went unnoticed. His selflessness, humour, and humility made him a beam of light that touched the hearts of many. He also never hesitated to lend a helping hand to his friends and peers, and the aura of optimism and brilliance around him was truly infectious. 

The first time I ever spoke to him was at our second high school band concert, where he taught me how to play an excerpt 30 minutes before our call time. With his help, 30 minutes later on stage was the first time I played the piece through completely. 

Shayan was truly amazing, and he will continue to live on in our hearts as one of the kindest, most loving individuals (and one of the most dedicated clarinet players) the world has seen. 

My deepest condolences go out to his family. I cannot imagine the grief and sorrow you must be going through, and I’m deeply sorry for your loss.

Shayan, 16 is such a young age to say goodbye, but from not only my own interactions with you, but also from hearing from others, it’s evident that you have truly lifted the people around you, and made those 16 years the most inspirational anyone could’ve made them.

We’ll miss you.

I was never close to Shayan, but I always saw him in the halls or at repertoire. From what little I could see, he was very nice, always greeting others politely and being humble. He was one of, if not the best, clarinetist in the entire band. He was diligent, always practicing in the practice room, and his technique was flawless. 

His diligence and humility are one of the many things that made him admirable, and I respect that. May he rest in peace.

I was deeply saddened to hear about your son’s passing. I can’t begin to imagine the pain you must be feeling—but please know that my heart is with you and your family.

From everything you’ve shared about Shayan, it was clear he was an extraordinary young man—so bright, full of talent, and with so much promises. It’s heartbreaking that the world won’t get to see the incredible things he would have done…

I hope you can find strength in the love that surrounds you and comfort in the memories you hold dear.

To my dear, Shayan

I wish I’d gotten the chance to know you better—but from the sparks in your mom's eyes whenever she talked about you - I glimpsed the bright, kind, and sweet-hearted young man you were becoming. Sometimes, the most brilliant stars burn for the shortest time. Your light was dazzling, Shayan! In sixteen years, you filled your mother's world with moments so precious that even in her deepest grief, they bring light to the darkness.
They say time is cruel, but love is eternal. And what love you inspired. I don’t know how this whole “after” thing works, but I hope wherever you are, you feel wrapped in the same warmth and devotion you brought to those around you. May you continue to love and be loved, across whatever distance now separates you from those who cherish you.
Sixteen years wasn’t enough. But you made them yours. And that? That’s something nobody can ever take away.

In our traditions, the children of your friend are your children. Though you may never have known me, please know that you are family in my heart. Your mother's love for you has made you part of my world too, and I promise you will not be forgotten. I’ll keep you and your loved ones in my heart and prayers.

Shayan is only 13 in this photo, he came to celebrate my son's birthday. I knew Shayan as an Incredibly polite and well mannered young man, who was intelligent and mature beyond his age, he had a unique ability to make people feel seen and heard. I am so honored to be able to meet such an amazing person, and happy that my son had a chance to be among Shayan's friends.

This photo is from when we went to a field trip to York University for AP Seminar. Although we didn't realize it at the time that month we had to work on our AP Seminar project are some of the fondest memories I have, mostly due to having Shayan as one of my group members. Through that time we truly bonded, from the shared stress, to the countless days working on our project after school.
Working with Shayan truly was a unique experience, Shayan was one of the first to finish his research, and he was always on top of things. Not only was Shayan a great group member he also lead to some of the funniest conversations our group had. Shayan was like a light in a dark tunnel, despite being in a stressful situation Shayan was always making lighthearted jokes that cheered the whole group up. Shayan also offered many different perspectives to our group, challenging the ideas we had and bringing his ideas which in many cases were better. 
Shayan's work ethic, positivity and willingness to question not only how something is but why it is is something that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Shayan was an incredibly considerate person. He took the emotions of others seriously and always made sure those around him felt safe, heard, and comforted. He had a rare balance, between being respectful and hard working, yet light-hearted and joyful when the moment called for it.
His passion for subjects like mathematics and physics was something to admire. He didn't just learn the material, he questioned it, challenged it, and explored it far beyond what was expected. In Mr. Karo's math class especially, he constantly pushed the boundaries of what a student could achieve. Our conversations would often drift into deep discussion about fundamental physics concepts, where we would debate their relevance and implications in the real world.
What stood out even more was Shayan's humility. He didn't worry about future pressures like university or status. He focused on the present, mastering what he loved, whether that was music, math, or anything that sparked his curiosity.
His quiet influence also left a lasting impact on me personally. I remember him telling me one day that he had started working out because he was tired of feeling skinny. Soon after, he looked visibly stronger, and that determination became a driving force in my own life. Even in the smallest things, Shayan held himself to a high standard, I often noticed him adjusting his posture to be perfectly straight, something subtle but deeply telling of his self-discipline.
He's left an unremovable impression on all those who knew him. To this day, every memory I, as well as my family, have of him are filled with warmth, admiration, and joy,

Just last year, Shayan and many of his friends attended the annual music banquet, an event that holds some of my closest and most cherished memories of him. That night reflected who he really was, both as a person and as a friend. 
I remember our deep conversations, ones that, even now, feel beyond my grasp. Shayan didn't just ask about the who, what, where, or why, he always asked how. That was the way he saw the world: not content with surface-level understanding, always digging deeper, always curious. He wanted to understand things in their entirety, not just by their definitions. 
But that night wasn't just about quiet reflection. Shayan also showed his energetic, extroverted side. During the dance, he began dancing with moves I couldn't even begin to imitate. Everyone watched, laughed, recorded, and he seemed to love every second of it. He often said he didn't care about what others thought  of him, as long as he was on the path where he needed to be. That confidence, that drive, and that sense of purpose were truly inspiring. It's something that I still strive to carry with me.

In this photo, Shayan stands glistening under a lone beam of light in a quiet music room, a powerful testament to who he was. His beautiful tone, pitch, and articulation pierced through the silence, filling the room with an unforgettable sound.
When Shayan set his mind to something, he would stop at nothing to achieve it, and music was no exception. What began as nothing more than a casual interest developed into a deep passion. He not only grew to appreciate and understand music, but became one of the strongest musicians in the school, transcending his grade. 
He held that passion close, joining orchestra and clarinet ensemble to fully immerse himself in what he loved. He was more than just a remarkable clarinetist, he was the kind of music student who explored theory far beyond the classroom, even learning concepts far above the grade 12 curriculum in his own time.
Shayan was also a passionate composer. Whether in class or during his free time, he often was found on MuseScore, crafting original compositions spanning a variety of genres. He didn't just create music for himself, he wanted others to hear it, to feel what he felt.
His friends remember the times he would proudly, and loudly, play his pieces out loud in class, inviting all to listen. That was Shayan, never afraid to share his passion, always eager to inspire. He even created YouTube channel to showcase his favorite works, hoping to reach more people and leave something meaningful for all to see.
I remember him in this moment, playing a classical piece, a genre he grew to adore and frequently share with others. His enthusiasm was contagious, driving others to be the best they can be. He truly was the finest clarinetist and musician one could imagine.
