Aaron Richards, 52, of Austin, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2025, after a courageous battle with Bulbar Palsy ALS. A devoted husband, cherished father, beloved son, loving brother, true friend, and a pillar of strength, Aaron lived a life rooted deeply in faith, family, and service. His love and devotion to those around him knew no bounds.
Born on August 11, 1972, Aaron was a gifted athlete whose talent earned him a scholarship to pitch for Baylor University. His commitment, discipline, and natural leadership shone both on and off the field. He carried those same qualities into every aspect of life—with his family, in business, and among friends. As a father, Aaron spent many years coaching his son’s baseball teams and being his daughter’s number one fan at her numerous dance events. He was their greatest role model.
As CEO of The Porter Company, Aaron was more than a leader—he was a mentor, a champion for others’ success, and a source of steady inspiration. He led with integrity, humility, and a generous heart, he created designated workdays for volunteerism and giving financially to causes and people in need. He believed success was measured not only by results but by how you treat others along the way.
Aaron lived life with passion and purpose. He found joy in spending time with friends and family—on the golf course, at Texas football games, hunting, fishing, or traveling the world. Whether on golf trips with friends across the globe, couples’ getaways, hunting weekends, or family vacations, Aaron made life richer through the memories he created and the connections he nurtured. Golf was one of his favorite pastimes, not just for the competition, but for the conversation and laughter it brought.
His unwavering faith carried him through even the most difficult days. Aaron’s relationship with God was the cornerstone of his life. He walked with Jesus daily and inspired others to strengthen their own spiritual journeys through his example, kindness, and unfaltering belief. With a gentle spirit, loyal heart, and deep compassion, Aaron made everyone feel seen, heard, and truly cared for.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 26 years, Caprice; his two children, daughter Ramsey Ann and son Hudson David; his three faithful dogs, Lulu, Hank, and Dolly; his parents, David and Gwynne Richards; his brother, James and his wife Cheyenne Richards, and their two sons, Eli and Owen. Aaron was the heart of his home, a light in his community, and a steady presence in the lives of all who knew him.
A Celebration of Aaron’s life and legacy will be held on Thursday, June 26, at 2:00 p.m. at Austin Ridge Bible Church, Bee Cave. Loved ones will gather to honor the extraordinary impact he had and the joy he brought into the world.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Aaron’s honor to Project ALS, an organization dedicated exclusively to research for a cure.
Aaron ran his race with courage, led with love, and leaves behind a legacy of faith, strength, and hope. He is now at peace in the arms of his Savior.
