Adrien Lorenzo Maxey-Salomone
September 8, 1998 - August 11, 2021
Adrien was a bundle of love and joy since he emerged into this life. He was born in Oakland, California and lived in the Redwood Heights district where he spent half of his life. Adrien demonstrated an early interest in baseball, starting with T-ball in Kindergarten. His bedroom was filled with trophies from his 6-year stint playing shortstop, pitcher and not surprisingly, slugger, on various Little League teams. His early chums from the neighborhood included Jordan Samuels, Raine Hoffman and Salah. Adrien moved to Austin, Texas in 2009, attending Four Points Middle School and Vandegrift High School, where he graduated in 2016 as a National Society of High School Scholars recipient. Adrien was fortunate to experience true love and lasting companionship with his high school sweetheart, Alexis Gonzales.
After baseball Adrien’s interests turned to skateboarding where he “shredded the gnar” with all the battle scars to prove his merits. Adrien gained skill and recognition, earning the coveted Thrasher hoodie. He sported Vans and shredded at least 25 skateboards, hitting up House Park in Austin and Brushy Creek in Cedar Park on the regular. During high school, Adrien’s interests in music began to flourish. He was encouraged by musician friends Kevin Claver (also his baseball buddy) and John Bluth. By the end of high school, Adrien and John were DJ’s at clubs, headlining their unique mix of EDM music at The Mark in San Marcos and The Scratch House in Austin. Adrien later joined Factory Studios in Austin, where he recorded Rap and Hip Hop music with his friend Luxx and associates.
Adrien had recently started a job as an account representative at Hearth Software, a Fintech SaaS platform for home improvement contractors. He was “crushing it” as we say in Sales. Adrien was a breath of fresh air and inspired his teammates at Hearth with his humor, energy and creative perspective. Prior to his role at Hearth, Adrien worked as a master mechanic at Austin Automotive with his dear friend, Josh Anderson.
Adrien was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Charles Edward Maxey and Constance Berryman Maxey, and his paternal grandfather, Jerome Joseph Salomone, PhD. Adrien is survived by his maternal grandmother, Ruscilla Anna Guidry Salomone; mother Kathy Lillian Maxey; father Bryan Jerome Salomone and brother, Rene Berryman Maxey-Salomone. Adrien’s Uncle Kurt Maxey, Aunt Pamela Salomone-Martin, Uncle Greg Salomone and Aunt Michell Salomone Rabalais love Adrien dearly, as do all his first cousins: Bobby, Christopher, Nicole, Cody, Corey, Meghan, Nicholas, and Katherine. Other influential people in Adrien’s life include his Godmother, Erin Milana, and close family friends Kimberly and Karl Hoffman.
Memorial Services will be held at Unity Church of the Hills in Austin, TX on Saturday, August 28 at 11:00 AM. Live streaming services of the “Celebration of Adrien’s Life” can be viewed here: https://youtu.be/EmmPL3L25wI.
