

Albert R. Carrion, age 77, of Austin, passed away on October 7, 2014 at his home. Albert was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Margarita and Ignacio Carrion. Raised with 3 sisters and 5 brothers, it was in Corpus Christi that he met the "catch" of his life, Mary Acuna, and they were married in 1956. He served in the Air Force for 8 years, and was stationed at Loring AFB in Maine and Bergstrom AFB in Austin. After being Honorably Discharged, he and Mary settled in Austin and raised their 4 children. Albert loved to travel, play fast-pitch softball, fish and watch his favorite team, the Texas Longhorns. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary; and four children, Cindy (Steve), Belinda (Matias), Elizabeth (Jimmy) and Albert Jr. (Jane), all of Austin. He dearly loved and is survived by 6 grandchildren, Lisa, Ryan, Matthew, Mark, Sam and Lauren, and 2 great-grandchildren, Juliana and Ethan; siblings, Ignacio Carrion, Mercy Ford, Gloria Purdum, and Jesse Carrion, and many other family members.
Memorials can be made in Albert's honor to Christ Lutheran Church
Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress. Funeral Service 10:00 am Friday, October 10, 2014 at Christ Lutheran Church 300 E. Monroe. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
