

Albert was preceded in death by his wife Effie Schotz, parents Henry and Coralia Schotz, brother Harry Schotz, sister Anita Chaplin, nephew Carl Celis Schotz and adopted grandson Joshua Alexander. He is survived by his brothers Richard and Charlie Schotz, sister Helen Schotz, niece Stephanie Schotz, and nephew Mark Freeman Schotz. As well as his adopted family, Suzette and Dennis, Rick, Tiffanie, Natalie, Robert, Remy, Heath and Cameron.
Al is a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He served proudly in the Navy for 30 years as a Navy Seaman where he was a gunner mate, he worked on top secret clearance missions and much more. Al also worked 20 years with the State Department of Highway helping with the design of the 360 Bridge in Austin, Texas.
To all that had the pleasure of knowing Mr. Schotz, he was dedicated to his family, country, and his fellow serviceman. He was a loving, honorable, dependable, kind, and stand up man. Al brightened the world with the unconditional love he gave to everyone, his smile lit up the room and his sense of humor always gave you a laugh.
Visitation with the family will be on Monday, February 6, 2017 from 9-10am followed by the funeral service at 10am, held at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Blvd, Austin, Texas 78752. Interment will follow in Cook-Walden Memorial Hill Cemetery, Pflugerville, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Purple Heart or the Wounded Warriors Project.
