Alice V. Young Alice V. Young, 76, of Austin, died on December 29, 2003. She was born on January 27, 1927, in Alexandria, Louisiana to J.W. Wells and Martha Louis Wells. Alice lived most of her life in Lubbock, Texas, however in later life moved to El Paso, Texas, to be near her brother, John R. Wells, who preceded her in death. She was the last member from a family of eight children. All her brothers and sisters preceded her in death. Alices last job during her working years was as an Administrative Assistant to the dean at the University of Texas at Austin, School of Nursing. Her son, Don Land of Austin, TX, survives her.
