

Memorial Service will be held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Sunday August 16, 2015 at 3:00 PM. A Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 20th at Cook-Walden Funeral Home. A Funeral Service and burial will be in Austin, Texas, Friday, August 21, 10:00 AM at Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Alma was born August 7, 1930 in Port Arthur, Texas, to Henry and Emma Wehmeyer.
In 1951 Alma graduated from St. John’s Lutheran College, Winfield, Kansas with a teaching degree. Prior to her marriage to Ronald J. Rottmann in 1953, Alma taught in a Lutheran School in Brownsville, Texas. Subsequently she taught in both Lutheran and public schools wherever Ron, who served in the Air Force, was stationed.
Alma was a faithful servant of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She witnessed her faith through her faithful attendance and support of the local Lutheran church wherever she lived. She enjoyed singing in church choirs, attending meetings of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, visited the sick and shut-in, and provided support for the activities of the youth.
Alma is survived by her two children, Gary (Betsy) Rottmann of Edmond, OK. and Ronelle (Tony) Schultz of Battle Ground, WA., by five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two brothers, Jim and Henry, and four sisters, Gladys, Geraldine, Ruth and Ethel.
Alma was preceded in death by her husband Ron, brother Eugene, and sister Dora.
Alma was a devoted wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, friend and child of God. She was loved by all.
Memorial donations can be made to the music ministry of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Battle Ground, WA. and/or the music ministry of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Austin, Texas.
