Alva Mae Grill Nichols

In loving memory of Alva Mae Grill Nichols, born November 13, 1928 Alva Mae passed Sunday, March 9, 2014. She shared a wonderful marriage of 32 years to William Arvel Nichols whom she loved very much. And now, they are together again – we can only picture them walking together slowly down a wooded twisted dirt road, coffee in hand, laughing and talking about everything and nothing – not uncommon for Sunday mornings in years past. She cared for her family through all the happenings of life with an iron will and gentle hand, always there if needed, never in need.

She is preceded in death by her husband and their child, Elaine Nichols Lemond.

Alva Mae is survived by three of her four children, Richard Arvel Nichols and daughter-in-law Sandy Nichols, Janice Nichols Thielmann and son-in-law Larry Thielmann, Lisa Nichols; five grandchildren, Stephen Arvel Nichols, William Aaron Henry, Sean Paul Thielmann, Ashlee Mae Thielmann and Haley Grace Nichols.

Alva Mae and Bill created a wonderful, loving home for their children and Alva Mae was a wonderful grandmother. She gave of her time to others by way of volunteering with several organizations. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

You left us beautiful memories, Your love is still our guide.

And though we cannot see you, You are always at our side.

Graveside Service 2:00 pm Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Forest Oaks Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice, Alzheimer's Association or Alzheimer's Foundation would be cherished.
