

Andrea C. Luque was born Andrea Cardona on February 4, 1924 in Kennedy, Texas to Mr. Francisco E. Cardona and Rosalia Gonzales. Andrea finally lost her extensive battle with diabetes and passed away on January 3, 2009 at 5:06 am at South Austin Hospital. She grew up in Kennedy and resided there with her parents and seven brothers and sisters. Andrea wed Mr. Martin Castillo at age 17 and they too had seven children. She later than met Mr. Jesus Luque and they both had two more children. In her early years, Andrea was a migrant worker; continually traveling to find work. She was a woman of many skills and worked earnestly throughout her life to support her children. Some of her skills included sewing, cooking, singing: tamales and mariachi music was her niche and what she was best known for. Andrea's love for singing and all things domestic where secondary to the overwhelming amount of love she had for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a woman of dignity, pride, compassion, faith, and virtue. Nothing brought her more joy and pleasure than being amongst her family. She was preceded in death by her eldest daughter, Andrea C. Rabadan. She is survived by her children, Anastacio Castillo, Juan Castillo, Vera Pena, Josephine Lung, Erlinda Castillo, Martin Castillo Jr., Esperanza Villa, Maria Guadalupe Armendariz; grandchildren; great-grandchildren. She was loved; she will be missed.
