Andrew “Drew” Paz passed suddenly and unexpectedly, overnight, in his sleep in the early morning hours of Wednesday, November 18, 2020. Drew lived in Austin, Texas on the East Travis County line. Drew was born on January 31, 1959 to Anita and Cesario Paz in Culver City, California. He grew up with his three brothers, Gilbert, Charlie and Joseph Paz and he had many friends. He graduated from Macarthur High school in 1977. Since high school, he has been involved in technology and has received a myriad of technological certifications over the years. He was a continuous life learner. Drew lived life to the fullest measure.
Drew was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. He cherished his church family at Hill Country Bible Church. Through his church Drew grew in his faith and ended up meeting his beloved wife Christina in the singles group at church. Drew was a talented photographer, videographer and musician who had an eye for beauty and a humble heart as well as attitude. He shared his passion for music by serving on the children’s ministry worship team with his wife and friends at Hill Country.
Drew left a positive impact and legacy of cherished memories to everyone he came in contact with. Drew’s wishes were that everyone would live in Peace with everyone they come in contact with and this is the message he practiced and preached in his thoughts, words, attitudes and deeds. Drew’s Motto was to always ask himself, “Does it help, does it hurt, or does it matter?” in relation to how he interacted with others. Drew had a hilarious sense of humor and strived to make everyone laugh at all times. He also knew when to be serious and he listened very well. Drew was quite self-controlled and patient.
Drew is survived by his wife, Christina Ann Paz, his 25-year-old step-son, Matthew Wesley Seekatz, daughter-n-law, Marisa Seekatz, nine month-old Grandson, John Edward Seekatz, his two brothers, Charlie and Joseph Paz, sister-n-law, Tracy Paz, his niece and 2 nephews, several God daughters, the England, Rhoades, Marshall and Green clans as well.
The most cherished role Drew played in my life was as a beloved husband to me; he was my True Drew. I could not have asked for a better husband. I know that Drew is with Jesus in Heaven and he is no longer suffering. Drew is in his perfect body and has no more pain. Drew would want me to tell you to, “Be at Peace.”
A memorial service will be held at Hill Country Bible Church – Lakeline Campus on Thursday, December 3rd at 11:00 am for family and close friends. Due to COVID we are limited in seating at the service and will be streaming the service at the same time. The link to watch the service online will be posted to Christina’s social media accounts at approximately 20 minutes before the service.
