His father died when Dad was quite young, leaving him the "man of the family" with two sisters and his mother. From this time on, his family was the most important thing in his life. He was married to Mary Kathryn "Kitty" Thompson from Bray, OK, when he was 17 until her death in 2002. He served in the U.S. Navy until after the war. He came back to go to school on the GI bill and became the first in his family to graduate from college. He taught high school and coached the women's basketball team in Bray OK, a few miles from Marlow. He went to work at Rock Island Oil and Refinery, which was later, Koch Industries, initially buying right of way and later purchasing crude oil after he moved to Wichita KS. He retired as Vice President of Administration for Koch Oil Company at age 60 and moved to the Lake Travis area, near Austin TX. He and his wife Kitty then traveled in pursuit of the best golf course in the world for four years until he had a disabling stroke. He was steadfast in his pursuit of health and recovery for the next 19 years until he finally succumbed from complications of several subsequent strokes. He is survived by his sister Mildred Prater of Guthrie, OK, his son Arthur Lee Brock of Kansas City MO and daughter Lynn Brock of Lakeway TX, and his grand children Sean Brock of Denver CO, and Shannon McCants of Dallas TX, Stephanie Corona of Lakeway, TX and his great grandchild Brock McCants of Dallas TX. Our family is deeply grateful for the kind loving care provided by Jerry Vandel MD, and both Terri Davis and Patricia Davis. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Weed-Corley-Fish Lake Travis, 411 Ranch Road 620 South in Lakeway.
