It is with great sadness that the family of Baltazar Guillermo Alvarez, announces his passing at home in Austin, Tx at the age of 75 on Thursday, July 5, 2018, after a brief battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Baltazar will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Virginia Alvarez and his children, Candace Nunez, Michael Alvarez, William Alvarez and Laurie Alvarez. Baltazar will also be fondly remembered by one sibling, Jaime Alvarez, eight granddaughters, one grandson and six great-grandchildren. Baltazar was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Carole Alvarez, his father, Baltazar A. Alvarez and his brother Charles "Ricky" Alvarez.
Baltazar was born on May 25, 1943 in El Paso, TX to his parents Baltazar and Virginia Alvarez. He joined the Air Force in 1962 where he worked as an Education Supervisor, a Graphic Technician, a Visual Information Services Superintendent and after 26 years of service, retired as a Weather Technician from Ft. Hood in Killeen, Tx. For many years Baltazar had a great love for music, dancing, art and photography.
Family and Friends may pay their respects during visitation on Thursday, July 12th, 2018 from 7pm-9pm and Funeral Services on Friday, July 13th, 2018 at 10am. The Visitation and Funeral Services will be located at Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills Funeral Home with Father David Moretti officiating at 9700 Anderson Mill Road, Austin, TX 78750. Baltazar will be laid to rest alongside his loving wife, Carole Alvarez.
