

Barbara was born in Orange, New Jersey on September 6, 1930 to Bill and Clara Erikson. She grew up on a turkey farm in Scotia, New York with her family and attended a one-room school house where she graduated from high school at the age of 16. Following graduation, she went to work at the General Electric Company. Barbara married Robert D. Clark on January 31, 1953 and was blessed to celebrate 68 years of marriage before Bob’s passing in 2021. Bob’s career took them to Seattle, Houston, back to New York, Austin, Dallas and back to Austin to be near family.
Barbara attended the University of Washington while in Seattle and completed her Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Texas at Austin. She held several positions with the State of Texas while living in Austin and worked for the “Super Collider” project in Waxahachie until the projects closing then she retired.
Along with raising two children, she enjoyed journaling, book clubs, investment clubs, playing bridge and mahjong, sewing, traveling and gardening. She loved collecting rocks from various parts of the country to put in her gardens. Barbara was a charter member of UT OLLI Quest where she and Bob attended lectures from various professors and speakers on myriad of subjects.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband Robert Clark, parents Bill and Clara Erikson, her brother Ernst Erikson and her daughter Patricia Grubb. Barbara is survived by her sister Betty Kottman, son Pete Clark and wife Sheryl, her grandchildren Kyle Clark and wife Sarah, Josh Clark and wife Rachel, Kelsey Johnson and husband Kevin and her five great grandchildren Sawyer, James, Parker, Nora and Jack Clark.
Services will be held at Emmaus Catholic Church in Lakeway, TX. On May 1, 2025 at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice in Barbara’s name.
