Barbara Jean Strey- Barbara Jean Strey, age 78, of Austin, TX passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2012. Barbara was born on June 28, 1933 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon W. Strey; parents Joseph & Alice MacDonald. She is survived by sons; Daniel W. Strey and wife Yolanda of Lockhart, TX; Joseph N. Strey and Kurt V. Strey both of Austin, TX and grandchildren, Nicholas V. Strey and Aaron C. Strey. Barbara met her husband while serving her country as a Naval Electronics Technician during the Korean War. She was a graduate from the University of Texas-Austin and retired from the US Department of Veteran Affairs as a computer programmer. Barbara was an avid dancer and member of the Austin International Folk Dancers (AIFD) for over 50 years. At Barbara’s request there will be no service that will be held.
