Barbara Berry Lord Williamsen passed away February 10, 2015.
Barbara was born April 21, 1921 in Los Angeles, California, a daughter of the late Allen Preston Berry and Dorothy Decker Berry. She graduated from Lamar High School in Houston, and attended Cazenovia Seminary before graduating from Texas State College for Women. At TSCW, she excelled in swimming, tennis, theater and debate. Barbara was a prolific writer, reader and Biblical scholar. Always curious, she exchanged letters with Albert Einstein when she was 16.
Barbara was predeceased by her husbands Everett Bryan Lord and Donald S. Williamsen and her sister Anita Berry Bonham. She is survived by her daughter Penny Lord Williams (Lynn) of Austin, Texas, her son David Lord (Sara) of Fort Worth, Texas, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church on Saturday, February 21 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Matthew Seddon officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Barbara's memory to St. John's Episcopal Church, 11201 Parkfield Drive, Austin, TX 78758.
