Benita moved to Austin from Lockhart in 1965 and joined St. Julia Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by her son, John Mireles; daughter-in-law, Frances Mireles.
Benita is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Vicente P. Mireles; daughter, Mary Mireles Gamez; son, Marsalino Mireles and wife Gloria; daughter, Virginia M. Estrada and husband Gilbert; son, Vincent Mireles, Jr.; daughter, Lupe Davila and husband Paul; daughter-in-law, Mary Mireles; sister, Josefa Salinas; 14 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and other loving family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 and Thursday, October 7, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will take place on both evenings at 7:30 p.m. at Cook-Walden/ Forest Oaks Funeral Home, 6300 W. William Cannon Dr.
Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 8, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
