Betsy Marie Maiellano Counsell

Heaven is rejoicing the homecoming of Betsy (Maiellano) Counsell, age 85. She passed peacefully in her sleep on August 22, 2024 in Austin, Texas, after a long battle with Alzheimer's and heart disease. She is free of pain and anguish.

Betsy is now singing and dancing with the angels and will watch over those she loves for eternity. She joins many that have gone before her including Felix and Vivian Maiellano (parents), Kate Maiellano (niece), and Robert Counsell (husband). She is survived by her two daughters, Cheri Chase (Bob) and Tia Rock; brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Linda Maiellano; grandchildren: Kirby Chase, Brianna DiMeglio (Neil), and Derek Christman; great-grandchildren: Christopher Flores, Hailey DiMeglio, and Zain Christman; Mehgann Maiellano (niece), Teagan and Zoey Keil (great-nieces); and Michael “Rork” Maiellano (nephew).

Among so many things, Betsy's love for family and friends, bright smile, quick wit, sense of humor, and warm hugs, will be greatly missed by all. She was loved dearly by many.

There will not be a service or burial. Betsy enjoyed living her best life on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, for 60 years prior to living in Austin, Texas. Therefore, her cremated remains will be scattered next summer at two of her favorite places on Cape Cod, Sandy Neck and Craigville Beach.
