Betty Lynn Jacobs

She was born April 30th 1934 in Morristown, Tennessee, where she grew up with Her Mother Verna Lee Skeen and brothers Bob and Phil. She graduated from East Tennessee University with a science degree.

Betty moved to California where she became an elementary school teacher.

She met her husband Paul Alan Jacobs and was married on April 3rd 1959. They had one son, Richard Alan Jacobs. Betty continued teaching until 1980, when she retired and her and Paul moved to Austin, Texas. Betty and Paul, developed and ran rental real estate properties in Austin until 2007.

Betty loved to play golf, bowl, read, talk with friends and family, and play with her grandchildren – Taylor and Steven.

Betty loved her three cats; the cats would take turns sitting on her lap while she was reading and napping in her favorite chair.

She is preceded in death by Verna Lee Skeen, Bob Skeen and her husband Paul Jacobs.

She is survived by her younger brother Phil Skeen and his loving family and her son Alan Jacobs and his loving family: Alan, Charlene, Taylor, son-in-law Corey and Steven

A graveside service for Betty will be held Saturday, January 21, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, TX 78749.

Afterwards, attendees are invited to a Celebration of Life at Jack Allen's Kitchen, 7720 West Highway 71, Austin, TX, 78735.
