

Beverly Otis Walker Beverly Otis Walker, age 82, of Austin died Wednesday, July 23, 2003. He was a member of Crestview Baptist Church. B.O. was born August 17, 1920, in Dripping Springs. He grew up in Austin, married Lois Beacham on December 25, 1941, and served in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946. He worked as a pipefitter and welder for most of his adult life following his graduation from Austin High School. Many of his later working years were at the University of Texas power plant and as an instructor in the local pipefitters union. Beverly loved to hunt and spend time with his family. B.O. was a very practical man who understood the way things workedwhether it was a piece of machinery or the relationships among people. His common sense and sense-of-humor allowed him to tell it like it is in a way that compelled many friends, relatives, and co-workers to seek his advice and counsel on most anything. B.O. can truly be described as an authentic individual. B.O. leaves, to cherish his memory, his wife of 61 years, Lois; three children: John Walker and wife Anne of Round Rock, Neil Walker of Austin, and Beverly Stringer and husband Bob of Austin. Also surviving Papaw are his grandchildren: Lee Walker of Austin, Rebecca and Suzanne Walker of Round Rock, Clifton and Lisa Stringer of Austin. B.O. is also survived by brothers Joe Walker of Austin, Sayers Walker and sister-in-law Dorothy of Houston, brother-in-law Hans Beacham of Austin, sister-in-law Dorothy Beacham of San Antonio, and a number of cousins, nieces, and nephews. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 25, at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 N. Lamar in Austin. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Saturday, July 26, at Weed-Corley-Fish. A private family burial service will follow at Wallace Mountain near Dripping Springs. Pallbearers are Barney W. Bandekow, Don Moore, Joe M. Moore, R.D. Moore, Dale Rebold, and Bobby Warren.
