Billy Morton McBride left us on Saint Valentines Day, February 14, 2004 at the age of 75. He had a beautiful view when he passed at 5:10am as a blanket of snow covered the Texas hills. Born in Duncan, Oklahoma on January 6th, 1929, Billy joined the United States Navy at the age of 18 and served in the Korean War in the Pacific. He and his family moved to San Antonio in 1967, where he worked at Pincus as a salesman and buyer of fine mens clothing for years. He then worked in Austin at Kims Cleaners with his family until he retired last year. He is survived by his son Noble Kim McBride, daughter Kay McBride Wray, grandson Noble Michael McBride, children-in-law, former co-workers, cohorts, and a host of other friends and admirers. A storyteller extraordinaire, and adventurer, he loved trips to West Texas with his buddies and other exotic pursuits. He will be missed. A memorial service will be held in the Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 18, 2004. Arrangements by Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 N. Lamar, Austin 452-8811.
