Bob/Chuck Jenner was born May 6, 1944, in San Antonio, Texas. He was the last standing member of his immediate family. It should be noted that he is now lying down.
Ever the jokester, Bob wrote that introduction himself. He unexpectedly passed away Sunday, July 5, 2015. He is survived by his longtime companion, Kathryn Eiland, his eldest son and family, Chuck, Christie, Andrew, Trevor Jenner and Ben Porter as well as his youngest son and his wife, Chris and Sharlene Jenner.
Bob spent much of his life in Las Vegas, Nevada, known as Chuck to his many friends. He was the Manager of the Department of Public Works for Clark County. After retiring and moving back to Texas, he spent countless hours finding and reconnecting with his relatives and childhood friends. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family, both immediate and extended. He never knew a stranger as anyone who met him can attest. Bob was an active volunteer with the St. Theresa Catholic School helping to feed the homeless, and the St. Thomas More Catholic Church with the Alzheimer’s Outreach Program.
Whether you needed it or not, Bob was always there to lend a hand. From mowing countless neighbors’ yards to assisting his grandkids with their homework, Bob took pleasure in helping others. He enjoyed great cigars and mediocre wine. He also liked talking about and working on cars more than driving them. His humor and warmth will be greatly missed.
Now for a little more from Bob himself…
Bob retired in 2004 and had to pinch himself daily to make sure he wasn’t in a dream. His dream consisted of going to the gym and talking to his gym buddies while they were working out their muscles and he was working out his jaws.
Memorial services will be held at the Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills Funeral Home at 7pm on Tuesday, July 7. 9700 Anderson Mill Road, Austin TX 78750.
