
Bryan Thomas Powell, age 67, of Georgetown, Texas lay down his tools and passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2022, surrounded by his family. Bryan was born in Austin, Texas on February 6, 1955. He was one of four children born to the late Raymond and Elsie “Alice” Powell. He is preceded in death by his younger sister Stella Marie Powell.
Bryan graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1973 and proudly served in the US Army and the Army National Guard. He was a member of the airborne infantry and served overseas in Germany during the Cold War. Bryan was a longtime member of the University Lodge No. 1190, where he rose in rank and became a Master Mason. He was an avid movie watcher and had eclectic taste in books and music, which he loved to share with his friends. He enjoyed photography, hunting, his family pet and collecting historical war memorabilia.
Bryan is survived by his son Shandy Powell Smith, his sister Alice Rae (AlRae) Huseman and husband Van, his brother James Powell, his niece Heidi and many cousins and friends.
A gathering for his family and friends will be held at Veterans Memorial Park (2525 W Hope Dr, Cedar Park, TX 78613) at the Veterans Memorial-Bench 2, where a memorial paver has been placed in loving remembrance of his life and service on Saturday November 19th at 11:00 am.
