Byram Christensen

Ronald Byram Christensen was born in Austin, TX on September 18, 1959. He attended St. Andrews Episcopal School, O. Henry Junior High and Austin High School, graduating in 1978. He attended Texas Tech University and later graduated from Southwest Texas State.

Byram returned to Austin to run the R.W. Byram & Company which was founded by his grandfather in 1921 and continued by his father. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting in South and West Texas, and could most often be found at his cabin in Joppa, TX. He will be remembered by all as a good man; an exceptionally generous and loving son, brother, uncle and friend. His friendships were uniquely multi-generational. He loved his nieces, nephews and friend's children as if they were his own and that love was reciprocal.

He is preceded in death by his infant brother John Thomas Christensen. He is survived by his parents Carrielu and Chuck Christensen, sister Carriline Bergquist, brother-in-law Bill, brother Charley Christensen, sister-in-law Teresa, and nieces and nephews Leila Bergquist, Wesley and Jeaneth Christensen, Leah Christensen, and Jake Bergquist.

The family would like to thank all the friends who supported and comforted Byram during these last months. Byram passed away peacefully May 4, 2014. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to St. Andrews Episcopal School, 1112 W 31st Street, Austin, TX 78705.
