He grew up in the St. Johns neighborhood where he attended St. Johns Elementary, Webb Middle School, and graduated from John H. Reagan High School (not without honor). He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by the late R.D. Reese at Rehoboth Primitive Baptist Church (currently Rehoboth Baptist Church) where he was a member of the Men’s Ministry and the male chorus. He loved being back to his spiritual roots. He married Sheila Vincent and, to this union, Calvin Dominique Brown III (deceased) was born.
Calvin was employed at Coca Cola for over 15 years and later became his own self-made entrepreneur, owner of Brown Bombers BBQ and Metal Men until his health failed. He also loved fishing, dressing up in the best suits, and rooting for his favorite NFL team, the Dallas Cowboys. Everyone Calvin met ended up being long-lost cousins. He was friendly to everyone and would always end up being a long family bloodline conversation. He loved his family, especially his nieces and nephews, and really enjoyed giving them money in eggs on Easter.
He leaves to cherish in his memories: his sisters and brother: Barbara Joiner (Larry Joiner), Carol Brantley (Leonard Brantley), Shawn Cumberlander (Eddie Cumberlander), Craig Brown (Tanya), and Lovie Brown. He also has a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who he really loved being around at family gatherings.
Welcoming him into his eternal life are his maternal parents, Calvin and Virginia Brown, Sr.; son, Calvin Dominique Brown III; and his sisters, Valery Williams and Sandra Brown.
