

Camille Berry, age 69, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 19 following complications from heart surgery. Camille was a vibrant spirit who lived life to the fullest, traveling with her husband John and having fun with her family and many friends. Camille was born and raised in Wichita Falls, Texas, the daughter of Ed and Frances Hopkins. She married John Berry in 1967. Later, they moved to Austin where Camille graduated from St. Edward's University. She had a successful career, retiring from the State of Texas in 1996. Camille and her husband enjoyed their retirement. They recently fulfilled a life-long dream, traveling to Norway for a cruise to view the Aurora Borealis. Camille's greatest joy was sharing experiences with her two granddaughters and five great grandchildren. She was also a lover of nature and spent hours perfecting her gardens and yard. Camille is preceded in death by her father Ed Hopkins. She is survived by her mother Frances Hopkins, sister Cecile Slotter, brother Ed Hopkins, husband John Berry, daughters Charla Truesdale and Michelle Hurt, granddaughters Shenay Vasquez and Callie Turner, and five great grandchildren, Jayson, Hannah, Jude, Alani, and Mya. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 23, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel, 3125 N. Lamar, Austin. Burial, with a short graveside service, will take place Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas.
