Carlos De La Cruz

Born in Roscoe, TX on December 19th, 1953 to Anselma Morales De La Cruz and Julian De La Cruz, Carlos grew up with his six brothers and sisters: Helen Carrillo, Connie Rangel, Raymond De La Cruz, Eva Brown, Oscar De La Cruz, and Adela Porter.

The De La Cruz family moved to Seguin, TX in 1966 where Carlos graduated from Seguin High School in 1972. Carlos then moved to Austin, TX in 1977 and in 1986 continued his education at Austin Community College majoring in graphic design. While studying at ACC, Carlos worked at Motorola as an Expeditor, later moving up in the Engineering Department’s analysis lab

Carlos met the Love of his life, Roxanne, in 1988. They married on October 13, 1990. Carlos and Roxanne had 2 children- Reanna Starr De La Cruz and Carlos Rey De La Cruz, Jr.

Carlos worked at Motorola/Freescale for 34 years, laid off in 2009. After being unemployed for nearly a year, Carlos persevered and continued his career at Samsung Semiconductor working in the Failure Analysis Engineering Lab. His illness ended his career in 2021.

During his time off from work, Carlos especially enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and hunting with family and friends.

Carlos is survived by his wife, Roxanne Arevalo De La Cruz, daughter Reanna De La Cruz Yaklin (and husband Peter Wayne Yaklin), son Carlos Rey De La Cruz, Jr., and granddaughter Amanda Grace Yaklin.
