It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Carlos A. Navarro, who was called to heaven by our Creator on Thursday, December 14th, 2023. Aged 83, Carlos was a beloved resident of Austin, Texas, and he leaves behind a powerful legacy of love and strength that will be forever cherished by all who were fortunate to know him.
Carlos was born and raised in Austin, Texas, and was the revered patriarch of his family. In 1959, he married his soulmate, Connie, and together they shared 63 years of unparalleled love and happiness. They were blessed with four sons, Charles, Phillip, Timothy, and Randy, with their family remaining the cornerstone of Carlos's life.
Carlos was an extraordinary man of many passions. He was a devoted family man, a sports enthusiast, and a dedicated public servant, his life was filled with remarkable achievements. His passion for sports was ignited at the Pan Am Recreation center, training under Oswald Cantu (“A.B”), where he discovered his love for boxing. His talent led him to become a Golden Gloves Middleweight Champion, earning him the affectionate nickname "CHAMP." Carlos's love for sports extended to baseball, where he was a skilled player and shared his love for both sports with his sons, creating lasting memories.
In 2002, after years of dedicated service, Carlos retired from the Texas Department of Public Safety. His commitment to his work was a testament to his strong character and dedication to his community.
Sadly, Carlos was preceded in death by his son, Tim L. Navarro; his parents, Carlos D. and Maria Navarro; his sisters, Eva and Rebecca Navarro; his brother-in-law, Freddy Lopez; and great-granddaughter, Abrielle Dias. He is survived by his beloved wife, Connie Navarro, his sons Phillip and wife Tina, Charles, and Randy, his grandchildren, Audrey Denmon, Tara Navarro, Amy Villagrana, Aricella Dias, Andrew Navarro, Benjamin Navarro, Tim R. Navarro, Chasidy Navarro, Randy Navarro Jr., and Marisa Navarro, and 14 great-grandchildren.
Carlos's passing will be deeply felt by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched, and his legacy of love and strength will serve as an inspiration to future generations.
A celebration of Carlos's life will be held at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2620 Congress Ave. Austin, Texas 78704 on December 19, 2023. Visitation will commence at 4:00PM followed by services at 6:00PM. Friends and family are invited to come together to honor his memory and share stories of his extraordinary life.
In accordance with his wishes, Carlos will be cremated and there will be no graveside services.
The family of Carlos would like to express their deepest gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this challenging time. The kindness and compassion shown have provided comfort as they mourn the loss of their beloved husband, father, and grandfather.
