

Carlos Ricardo Olivares, 66, passed away peacefully on October 6 surrounded by his close family. Carlos was born and raised in Mexico City where he eventually met his wife Lourdes. Together they moved to the United States in 1983 where they raised their three sons. During his life Carlos worked for Mexicana Airlines for 25 years and Texas Workforce Commission for almost 20.
Throughout his career he dedicated his life to teaching others and helping them discover their talents. He lived to work, and cared equally about all of his coworkers both personally and professionally.
At home Carlos was a loving husband and caring father, as well as an ardent Yankees fan. He was full of kindness, wisdom, patience, wit and pride for his family. For him, family always came first.
He will be dearly missed, and is survived by his wife of 40 years and three sons, Carlos (Tammy), Ale (Selena), Juan-Pablo (Sabina) and beloved granddaughter Emma. In addition his siblings Gilda (Patricio), Germán (Ana), Eduardo (Aurora), Brother-in-Law Carlos (Ligia), and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Welcoming him in Heaven are his parents, Francisco and Olga Olivares and brother Francisco (Guadalupe).
His spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held in his honor on Thursday, October 11, 5:30 PM, at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, located at 3125 N Lamar Blvd.
