

Carole Ann Cook, 63, of Taylor, TX, passed away Friday, January 1st suddenly after complications from a pulmonary embolism. She is survived by her loving family, including daughter Amy and son Jay, son-in-law JR and grandchild Nicholas. She is also survived by sisters Paula, Stephanie and Shirley and brother Mark, and preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Jane Kozler.
She was married to Wayne Wehrer of Austin, Texas for 19 years, and they had 2 children together. She was also married to David Cook of Taylor, Texas for 6 years and remained friends.
Carole took great pride in working for the great State of Texas at the Texas Department of Public Safety headquarters in Austin, Texas. She worked various positions in Crime Records Service for almost 24 years.
While married to former spouse Wayne, she was heavily involved with the PTA at Forest North Elementary in Northwest Austin.
Carole’s interests included bingo and gaming pursuits, cooking, crafting, canine and feline companionship, DWTS and The Bachelor. Her daughter feels she will be watching the final season of American Idol from heaven, cheering on her favorites to win!
Her family and friends were one of Carole’s main priorities. Ensuring their happiness was always tantamount to her own desires. “Oh, I just picked this up”, was a common phrase heard when receiving an unexpected gift from Carole out of the blue. She had a way with understanding people’s precise needs, and subsequently finding a way to ensure their happiness. It gave her great joy to see others’ wishes fulfilled. She will be very missed by family and friends alike.
Carole’s wonderful spirit, joy, and talents will be celebrated at a memorial honoring her life at 1pm on Thursday, January 7th at the Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 N Lamar, Austin. The urn burial next to Carole’s beloved parents will take place in Chicago, Illinois in mid-March.
