Loving mother, wife, friend, and shining star. We may have lost this angel, but she has finally found her wings, and is flying home. Carolyn will now be able to fly into the arms of her high school sweetheart and husband of over 50 years, and is now giving her eldest son a big hug and kiss.
This horse wrangling, Colorado skiing, green thumb mastermind was the granddaughter of a cotton planting, mule driving, pioneer couple from Bleu, Texas, Alma Mae and Joshua "Bo" Hutson. Carolyn's mother Emma Lee grew up watching her father Beau develop Austin's once popular Hut's Hamburgers, and in his down time would strike up a fiddle with Kenneth Threadgill. Carolyn's mother Emma Lee found love with a gentleman from St. Louis, Missouri, and had three beautiful kids. His name was Alvin Carter Wilson. Carolyn was the middle child in this lovely family of five with an older brother named Carter, and a younger sister named Catherine. After time passed, Emma Lee found love again with another gentleman named Debs Falcone from Austin, Texas. Debs taught Carolyn how to fish, hunt, and camp, and to enjoy live to it's fullest. It would be Austin, Texas where Carolyn would call home, and where she would find the love of her life, Joe.
Carolyn valued family above everything. She looked forward to spending time watching 8mm films of past family trips with Debs and Emma Lee and all of the kids sitting around the Nelray living room in North Austin. Joe and Carolyn found themselves in many different directions. Eventually in their marriage, they decided to purchase two Bonanza Steakhouse's, one on Research Blvd., and one on Cameron Rd.. They were also raising two wild boys named David Michelle and "Dammit" Patrick Lee. All the while, in Leander, Carolyn was raising horses on their property where the family lived. It was at this time the family began visiting a small church on 51st street, with a life long friend of Joe's named Father Don Sawyer.
Carolyn's love of life and happiness spread like wildfire throughout the church, her friends, her work, and the community. She is survived by her son Patrick Lee Crowley and his wife Holly Crowley. Her four grandchildren, Zachariah Patrick Crowley, Zena Lilith Crowley, Darrion Crowley, and Hunter Mitchell. Her daughter-in-law Jana Mitchell and her husband Scott. Her elder brother Carter Wilson, his wife Linda, and their daughter Christine. Her younger sister Catherine Parten and her daughter Debbie Wheeler and family. Curtis Wheeler, husband, and their three children, Wesley and his wife Kay Lee, Jessica, and Jordan. Her Cahill cousins, with whom she grew up like siblings and loved dearly. She is also survived by the family she chose, the wonderful people of Our Lady's Maronite Parish; she found such joy in the special friendships discovered at her Lord's home.
Now, we mourn for ourselves because our "angel flying too close to the ground" has gone home.
"And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest"-
