

Carolyn Grace Sanders Fleming was born April 9, 1923, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and passed away peacefully June 25, 2021, in Austin, Texas. She was born to Earl M. Sanders and Nova Fly Sanders. Carolyn grew up in Tulsa and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church where she accepted Jesus Christ into her heart.
Carolyn married James R. Fleming on May 29, 1947, and lived in Tulsa until 1965 when Jim was transferred to Houston. Upon his retirement, they moved to Austin in 1984 to be close to their daughter and family. Carolyn was a charter member of Austin Baptist Church, and she adored her grandsons and their activities, and then her great-grandchildren. Carolyn was a wonderful godly mother that led by example and was loved by many.
Carolyn is survived by a daughter, Sandra Fleming Ferguson and her husband Randy Ferguson of Austin; Her grandsons, Wallace Ferguson and wife Jaime Kaye of Austin; Kyle Ferguson and wife Jaime Nicole of Waco; great-grandchildren, Blair, Callie, Reid and Caroline Ferguson along with many nieces and nephews.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her twin brother Carrol T. Sanders (Joan), sisters Vera Jeane Arwood (Wayne) and Beth Holloway (Paul).
Her life will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 6 at 2:00 PM at Austin Baptist Church, 7016 Ribelin Ranch Road, Austin, Texas. Her graveside service will be in Tulsa, Oklahoma on July 10 at Memorial Park Cemetery at 10:00 AM and will be officiated by Brandon Holloway.
