Catherine Sue Perkins

Catherine was a devoted mother who worked as a Special Education teacher in Louisiana and recently as a Disability Determination Specialist for the state of Texas. She dedicated herself to her daughter and advocacy for those with different abilities.

Catherine is survived by a daughter, Sarah Alice Perkins, 19, of Austin, a brother Chris Perkins and wife Sharon of Baton Rouge, a sister Cindy Perkins Heying, husband Christopher and their children Mary Grace, John Luke and Patrick of Chatham, Virginia, and her step-mother and sister Leeta Perkins and Beth Prater of Mississippi, and step-siblings Steven Parsons, Aaron Parsons, Jr., Don Parsons and Debbi Parsons Smith of Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents Louis Perkins of Corinth, Mississippi and Patricia and Aaron Parsons of Opelousas, Louisiana.

A memorial service will be performed by Fr. Christopher Heying with Fr. Mike Adams at All Saints Episcopal Church, 209 West 27th Street, in Austin this Friday, September 19, 2014 at 4:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made for Cathy to Sarah Perkins' 529 College Savings Plan. Checks should be made payable to START and must include account number 8533 for Sarah A.
