Celia Teresa Lessey was born to the late Lloyd and Lestina Lessy on August 29, 1954. Celia became ill at the very young age of 9 years old, but it never stopped her from lending a helping hand participating in any event. She was a community activist, a member of Star Lodge No. 18 and a member of the Class of 72-73 Reunion Committee. We can truly say that Celia has truly fought a good fight, has finished her course, and kept the faith. She never complained and would always say, "Thank God for Jesus." Celia graduated in the class of February 1973 with Honors at Rainbow City School, Canal Zone. During her high school years, she was very active in and was nominated "Rookie of the Year" in softball. Celia accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age and became a member of the Christian Mission church in Colon, Republic of Panama. She was active in youth ministries, the choir, and Sunday school. She later united with Bethany Baptist church in Rainbow City, and was a member of the Senior Choir and worked with Vacation Bible School. Celia was employed by the Panama Canal Co., Terminal Division as a Cargo checker. She later worked with the Autoridad Portuaria. In 1986, Celia was blessed with a beautiful daughter named Shantel. She was mother's dream come true and love of her life.
