Major Charles Hap Chandler, USAF Ret. was born December 15, 1931, in Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas. He passed away April 20, 2004 in Austin, Texas. A fighter pilot from the start, Hap spent 20 years in the United States Air Force. Following retirement, he taught woodworking at Austin Community College and was the proprietor of the Chan-C-Airport and Ranch in Coupland, Texas. He is survived by a son, David Chandler; sister, Patrica Spiller; brother, John Chandler; and many close friends and family. Burial is at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas, Friday, April 23, 2004, at 2:00 pm. A gathering of friends will be at the Chan-C-Airport and Ranch Saturday, 4:00 pm.
