In 1980, Charlie became the President of Fox Service and purchased the company from his long time mentor, Curt Fox in 1994. One of Charlies greatest sources of pride was the company he grew and owned. He was especially proud of the employees that drove the trucks and the office staff that took care of the details, day in and day out. At no time, did he fail to appreciate the great team he had. Always active in the community, Charlie served on the board of Austin Crime Stoppers and was a member of Austin Country Club, Headliners Club and several business organizations. Throughout the years, Fox Service Company and Charlie made numerous charitable contributions to a multitude of local charities. Charlie enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved his friends, travel and cooking. He loved to have friends over to the house to watch football and golf while he cooked. He looked forward to his annual trip to Acapulco, Mexico with friends and family. Loved by so many, he enjoyed still having lunch with his old Austin High buddies. Terrie and Charlie enjoyed their sundowners on the back porch. He lived hard and loved well and left his unique footprint on everyones heart. The family would especially like to thank the wonderful doctors and nurses in the Intensive Care Unit of Seton Hospital who took such great care of Charlie these last three weeks. Their strength and devotion were a great comfort to the family. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Loretta Hard, his daughter, Carrie Hard and his brother and sister, Chris Hard and Kathy Dorman. Charlie is survived by his loving wife, Terrie, his son and daughter-in-law, Rhett and Karen Hard, and his stepdaughter Kara Fredley all from Austin.
