He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Fred, his son Duncan and his granddaughter, Erica.
Chuck worked for Texaco for many years. He was a metallurgical engineer and in that capacity was involved in projects worldwide. He lived and worked in London for three years and it was there that he met his wife, Jane, with whom he lived in love for 34 years.
During the past years, he had many health problems, which he handled with dignity and without complaint or self-pity.
He loved his family beyond all else and the grief caused by the loss of his beloved granddaughter, Erica, in 2012 and his beloved son, Duncan, in 2013 was overwhelming. He was diagnosed with cancer in early 2014, to which he finally succumbed.
One of his favorite pastimes was to sit down at the bridge table and play a few hands. He enjoyed the camaraderie of his fellow players.
Chuck was a gentle, kind and loving man and his family and friends were blessed to have him in their lives.
He leaves behind his wife, Jane; his daughter, Michelle and husband, Chris; daughter, Marsha; son, Matthew; grandson, Aaron; sister, Joyce and husband Jim; sister-in-law, Pam; Aunt Loretta, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at St. Luke's on the Lake Episcopal Church, 5600 RR 620 North, Austin, Texas 78732.
