

Charlotte Ray Moore, age 80, passed away on February 21st, 2020 in Austin, Texas. Charlotte was born in Karnes City, Texas on October 8th, 1939, the oldest of three daughters to Eva (Barth) and Kennith Johnson. She grew up in Austin and was a graduate of McCallum High School in 1957. She married the love of her life J.D. Moore on June 6th, 1958 and they had three sons. Charlotte and J.D. raised their sons in the Allendale neighborhood of Austin and were faithful members at Faith Lutheran Church. Charlotte worked for many years at Northwest Hills Pharmacy and Florist where she was well liked by all of her customers due to her vibrant personality and contagious smile. During this time she developed many lifelong friendships with her coworkers. Charlotte was a devoted mother to her three sons and the most passionate fan at their sporting events. Her and J.D. formed many friendships within their sports family that endured through the years. She loved spending time with her family at Lake Buchanan, holidays, birthdays, graduations, weddings and countless other special occasions. Her charming personality always brought a great amount of fun and laughter at these gatherings. Whether it was her nieces and granddaughters playing in her makeup and jewelry or admiring her fashion, she will always be remembered as a classy lady. Although Charlotte will be missed greatly, the family has found solace knowing she is reunited in heaven with her husband of 35 years, J.D. Moore, son Jeff Moore, sister Billie Slade and her son Troy, parents Eva and Kennith Johnson. She is survived by her son Jay Moore and wife Dana and son Kenny Moore; her sister Ella Rode and husband, Byron. Charlotte is also survived by two granddaughters, Jami Moore and Kelsey Heavner and one grandson, Derek Moore and wife Danielle; three great grandchildren Evelynn, Riley and Ryan Moore; three nieces “her girls” Brenda Jennings and husband Rusty, Beverly Wendlandt and husband Ted and Sherry Windom and husband Wade; great nieces Ashley Melton, Whitney Myers, Kelly Curtis, Lauren Webster, Alyssa Moody, Megan Moody, Ashley Windom; great nephews, Jeremy Hansen, Zachary Hansen, Joshua Jennings, Bryan Dowling and Jackson Windom along with numerous great great nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their thanks for the wonderful help and care given by The Auberge at Cedar Park. The family has arranged for a visitation on Tuesday February 25th from 5:00-7:00pm and a funeral service on Wednesday February 26th at 10:30am at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 N. Lamar Blvd in Austin, Texas. A graveside service will be held following the service at Post Mountain Cemetery in Burnet, Texas.
