

Born in Chengdu, China, Mr. Chi lived a life marked by steadiness, resilience, and quiet strength. He was born into a time of significant historical upheaval, growing up during the era of World War II and the Chinese Civil War, and later moving to Taiwan as a child. He was known for his gentle manner, strong sense of responsibility, bravery, and unwavering commitment to his family. Hardworking and patient by nature, he carried himself with dignity, highest moral values, and consistency throughout his life.
Family was always central to Mr. Chi’s life. As a husband, father, and grandfather, he fulfilled his roles with devotion and care. In pursuit of greater opportunity for his children and long-term stability for his family, he relocated multiple times—moving from Taiwan to Argentina, and ultimately to the United States. Through each transition, he approached change with resolve and adaptability, placing the well-being of his family above all else. His love was deep and understated. He expressed care through actions rather than words, offering quiet support and dependable presence to those around him. His steadiness and care gave his family a lasting sense of love, security, and trust.
Mr. Chi worked for China Airlines in Taiwan, where he was recognized for his diligence and reliability. After settling in the United States, he entered the restaurant business and worked tirelessly to build a stable life for his family. His approach to work was practical and disciplined, reflecting his belief in perseverance and responsibility.
Beyond his professional life, Mr. Chi possessed a deep appreciation and talents for the arts. He enjoyed calligraphy, drawing, cooking, woodwork, and music—pursuits that reflected his thoughtful, creative, and reflective nature. He was known among family members for offering calm, measured advice and for listening with patience and care.
Cheng-Hung Chi will be remembered for his integrity, dedication, and lifelong commitment to his family. His presence was steady rather than loud, and his influence enduring rather than showy. The values he lived by continue through the family he nurtured and the example he set.
Mr. Chi is survived by his beloved wife, Ning Tsao Chi; his sons David Dah Ruey Chi and his wife Cindy Chen Chi, and Daniel Dah Chin Chi and his wife Ellen Song Chi; and his cherished granddaughter, Yvonne Chi.
A visitation will be held at Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills, located at 9700 Anderson Mill Road, Austin, TX 78750, United States. The visitation is scheduled for January 9, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The final blessing will begin at 3:00 pm.
