Chester J. Trosky Jr., 56, of Austin passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2005 from complications developed while battling cancer. Chet now joins his sister, Sandra, in the arms of the Lord. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn; children, Brittany and Kenny; his parents, Chester J. and Alice Trosky; sister, Catherine Hass and brother, Peter Trosky. He was strong in strength and spirit. To everyone he met he displayed the true merits of a real man; to his family he showed what it meant to be a great husband and father, and he will be with us forever. Chet was born on March 2nd, 1949. After attending the University of Texas at Austin he began his service in the United States Air Force. During his remarkable 20-year military career, Chet traveled the world as a C-141 pilot; he saved many lives in the heroic landing of a mortally crippled plane in Australia. During his time in the Air Force he met his future wife, then Capt. Kathryn Cowan. Chet retired from the service in 1992 with the rank of Major after serving as Senior Command Post Officer at Bergstrom Air Force Base. He then became active in the Austin real estate community, where he worked for Henry S. Miller and then Coldwell Banker. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the doctors and staff of St. Davids South Austin Hospital. Their concern and compassion for Chet and for us was immeasurable. Family visitation will be between the hours of 7 and 9 PM on Monday, May 16, at Weed Corley-Fish funeral home. A rosary service will be held at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, May 17 at Weed Corley-Fish. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 18 at Saint John Neumann Catholic Church located at 5455 Bee Caves Road. Committal services will follow at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be made to the American Lung Association or the American Cancer Society. Memorials and guestbook available online at wcfish.com
